The ad was truthful in every aspect. The pens are a medium black ink, just twist the end and the ballpoint appears. I put the level on top of a level that I paid a lot of money for and the bubbles on both lined up perfectly. The measuring device is in inches and millimeters. The bottle cap opener works as well. I don't have much use for a bottle opener, but my buddy had some beer along for our poker game that was not twist-off and it worked very well and the pen did not bend as I was fearing it might.There is a light at the top of the one pen and I was surprised at how bright it was. Just remember to take off the plastic shim that holds the light from being depressed in shipment. There is a flathead and Phillips screwdriver under the stylus. The stylus works very well on a cell phone for switching pages or even playing games while you're wearing gloves.The bottle opener is also supposed to hold your phone, but I was a little hesitant to put metal on a glass screen, plus I have a protective cover over my phone that is too thick to fit inside the bottle opener opening.Overall a great set of pens for me or to give as gifts.

This is a set of two pens, one black and one silver. I also have another set of them that both pens are in all black, which really is the only difference between the two as far as I can tell. One pen (the black one) has a light built in, a bottle opener, a built in level and ruler, and a removable stylus attached to the writing end which also removes for a tiny screwdriver. The other pen (the silver one) has a stylus where the other has the light, a level, and a ruler on the side. This pen set I feel is useful especially for someone who might be going out to do field work and needs a small ruler to set nearby for documentation. I don't feel that the screwdriver is going to be very useful or durable, as it is very small and frankly difficult to use because comes out of the pen so short. I also worry about the bottle opener lasting very long, as I believe the shell of the pen is aluminum and this is probably going to get bent fairly easily, not to mention that the stylus also sort of sticks out in that area of the pen. Overall, I think it's useful for field work, and great as a gift to someone who might be out doing that type of work, and I would definitely have enjoyed receiving it as a gift.

I can't imagine any self-respecting contractor would use this, it is definitely a nerd item. I think it is good for what it is. I will carry it with me for those times I need a quick rough measurement, and the jewelers screwdrivers might be handy. The one with the LED would do in a pinch, but not very bright. I don't think I will try to open a bottle with it, but it would probably also work in a pinch.

These are great as gifts or just to have on hand. The pen and the clip on the pen is very sturdy, it writes well like a typical ball point pen. The screwdriver on the silver pen was easy to find and use, It did take me a little longer to figure out how to get to the screwdriver on the black pen but once I did it was also easy to get out and put back in the pen. It comes with 2 pen refills which is nice. Im planning to purchase more for some contractor family members in the near future.

It's not quit what I was expecting but definitely comes in handy

These pens are such an awesome idea - I really dig the ruler and bubble, and a little inspection light on the end would be perfect - if it worked. I've bought two differently branded versions of this pen, and the light module that drops in just... sucks. This one broke after two uses, on the first day.
