Perkin Knives - Handmade Damascus Hunting Knife with Sheath - KN3

The knife is really nice and looks well made. However, the sheath didn't impress me much. The material is very thin, hard and rigid. I have a hard time getting the knife in and out of the sheath. It also has buttons that say its from the state of Oklahoma. I assumed these people made the sheaths in the UK. I did purchase another one of their knives along with this one. It came with a very good made sheath over twice as thick as the first one and it fit the knife well. I wished this knife came with a sheath made like the second knife. Overall I am very happy with the knife so I had to give it 4 stars. On the downside I wished they had sent a good sheath for this knife.

Nice knife. The etch to bring out the watering is a bit extreme. The stone pocket on the shearh is too small but this is nit picking. It is an amazing blade and distinctive.

Beautiful hilt, aggressive blade design and was rather easy to get to a razor sharp edge. The leather sheath that came with the knife is also of high quality. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

A beautiful piece of handcrafted work. The detail in the construction, the detail in design, and the sharpness of the blade do not compare to any others in my collection. Perkins Knives has made a new life long customer, I am already looking for my next addition. Beautiful work again!

First, full disclosure: I do not presently own a Perkin knife. I ran across several at a large gun show and was amazed at the prices. After a bit of research, I'm glad I opted not to buy one. Here's why.Understand, the company based in the UK is primarily a knife IMPORTER, not a knife MAKER. The knives, steel and all, are from Pakistan. Which is fine, as long as you know that up front. Quality control, particularly when referring to "Damascus" steel, is extremely important. And, to be honest, it's sometimes lacking in Pakistani steel.Below is an excerpt from their website, supposedly based in the UK:"We are custom knives makers based in UK. We sell premium quality custom knives. We sell a range of bushcraft knives, bowie knives, hunting knives, camping knives, hatchets, axes, choppers. All of these are specially designed for those of you who enjoy being outside, camping, Bushcraft & hunting. What concerns me is not that they're importing knives from Pakistan, but the fact that they appear to be trying to hide that information. I mean "Our Most of knife Smiths are based in UK and few in Europe & other Countries." Really? They don't know the UK is in Europe? And which "other countries" exactly? Think twice before making a purchase, and remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The knife is well made and sharp when you get it. It just needs that light sharpen to get it to that cuts like butter edge. Looks great on my desk and would highly recommend

This was a present for my knife obsessed boyfriend and he couldn't be happier. The quality of the knife is superb and it was well worth the price. We are already looking into buying more knives from this company.
