Wow.... I ordered 2 recessed lighting kits from Halo and returned them after I saw this product. I decided to go with the 3" bright white 3000K with the thought that I could just increase my hole size if I needed to step up to more light. From the product description it looked really easy to install but after several agonizing electrical DIY projects around my house I was very skeptical. I could not believe how easy these lights were to install. I made the holes with my drill and a hole saw attachment, inserted the lights, wired the box, and it was done. This was by far the easiest project I've ever done at my house. My home is old and has terrible lighting. I've already purchased more of these to place around the house. If you are purchasing these I would suggest 3" for areas where you are complimenting other light sources, such as bathrooms, hallways, and kitchen counter top areas. The light output is not your standard LED blinding light, which I was worried about. The output from these lights is very nice and goes well with my other lights. I cannot recommend this product enough to anyone who wants to add lighting to their home without the hassle of a big wiring job. These are great for difficult to access spaces as well. The only negative I found was that once you plug into the wiring connector, there is no way to release it (at least I couldn't figure out how).

These slim led lights are the shiznit!!! They have amazing output at every size... I have 3", 4", and 6" versions, and they dim perfectly with my chosen dimmer... The Maestro vel/led version. I will never install a recessed can again!January 2019 Update: I've recently added a 15 more 4" wafers throughout my house, and they are just the greatest! LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They are an old work install dream - you can pretty much drill a hole wherever you want - even under strapping, and fit these guys right in below the obstruction. As long as you can snake your feeders, and there is room to get the junction box in, you're good to go. I'm now running many of these on Lutron Caseta wireless dimmers and they work fantastic. Smooth with zero visible flicker, etc. These don't dim as low as some other LEDs I've used (LED Edison bulbs in particular dim incredibly low), but they go down far enough for anything I need them to do. I do sometimes have to bump the low trim on my Caseta/Maestro digital switches to ensure all the lights come on together... if you set the trim too low and try to cold start the lights dim, sometimes only a fraction will come on, but once set properly, they light every time at their dimmest setting. I have a few 6" cans but am using the 4" exclusively now - I don't notice the output difference and think the 4" is just a great nearly invisible look. Can't recommend these enough.

Bezels are fine. They had no problem with pressure causing any cracks... (yet). They fit snugly into place with the spring clamps.These appear to be 3" across the bezel and the light. Very compact design with the remote power supply. I was concerned about the size, but is plenty bright. We used 8 for a 25 x 20 room placed a tray ceiling. Highly recommend a dimmer as the light is Bright!!! I love that their profile required little clearance and the remote power supply is convenient to hook up. The only pain is that my sheetrockers screwed up the openings (too wide) and I have to repair the openings. 1 out of 8 openings was correct.

The media could not be loaded.  Overall we are happy with the purchase so far but I'd rate this between a 3 and 4 due to some limitations and issues.Good:- Form factor is absolutly great for trying out proposed lighting locations in new construction and for installation in new areas of existing contruction.- Lumens are good with a wide distribution of lighting. Given how the led's are around the outer edge, they don't have an issue with the down pointing ones that some screw-in models do.- No cans mean no rattling from folks walking on the floors above and it means you can install it almost anywhere. This fixes the issue we had like where the builder installed hallway lights off center because of plumbing and ducts.Bad:- Buzzing at the ac/dc box with any dimmer. Only the ELV versions of the lutron dimmers reduce it to a near inaudible point but they are absurdly expensive.- CRI is only 80+. While we didn't noice any colors that seem off yet, it is dissapointing that they don't have 90+ at this point.- The cord from the box to the light should be 6"-12" longer to help with placement. It is great that extension cables are available for additional placement options but the default length can present some challenges in new construction placement.

Wow! What an incredible light. Tremendous high quality light output, in an extremely shallow package. The installation of the light kit in the ceiling is very easy. Note that this gives off a LOT of light in its 3" size - I have mine installed in a 7' high ceiling, and I actually would recommend only using in 8' or higher ceilings, or where the disc will be concealed from direct view. (At 7', I had to put it on a dimmer so I wasn't blinded!)I also suggest getting a hole cutter with dust catcher to make your installation easy and tidy.  Klein Tools 53731 Quick Cutter Adjustable Hole Saw

I love these lights! I've installed 4 of them (one above my desk, another in the closet, and two above my dressing area). The temperature of the light is perfect. Just warm enough, without being too yellow. The fixtures are easy to install if you have access to the other side of the ceiling. Since they are IC-rated, I don't have to worry about contact with my insulation, although they do get hotter than I expected. They are hot to the touch after running for a few minutes. The lights are super bright, so I have them all on dimmers. They dim smoothly without flickering or humming on Leviton LED slider switches. I will definitely get more of these in the future!

Hard to install, if you screw it to a board flush using the holes provided you can't snap the cover back on so I had to mount it onto strapping. See photo. Main issue is light has a BUZZING sounds even when used with LED dimmer. Unfortunately the buzzing drives me nuts...

I really like these lights. I use them often in my construction project as highlight lights

we have high-end 5 star suites and we use these lights in numerous locations to showcase items. They work great.

I just installed 6 of these lights in my kitchen. Overall I am very pleased with the lights. The box fits (barely) through a 3/14" hole (use the punchout at the end of the box, not on the side) and the clips hold the light in place very sturdily. The power box contains quick connect plugs for your wires so no marettes are needed (note: if you need to remove a wire from one of the quick connects after it has been pushed in, grab the wire with needle nose pliers and gently twist and pull to remove it).The light is a nice medium/warm light, is bright and works with a dimmer as advertised.My only complaint is the small space within the box for your wires. It's very crowded and I was required to only put in the minimum amount of wire required, then after closing (with difficulty) the box again I taped it shut to ensure it didn't pop open.
