I have an old single pane picture window that I have been procrastinating replacement. As a temporary fix I put this outside and also did the indoor style inside. That was at least a year ago. Even with all the crazy weather we have been having it's still in one piece and taped all the way around.

I love the way it looks nice and clear it soft , easy to manageNow if only I can figure a way to let air in during summer months???

People have told me about this product for my home office window that lets in a lot of cold air. I ignored it because it seemed like a hassle to install. I finally got it and so happy! So easy to install. Very sturdy too, it’s survived two blizzards thus far.

I cover my doors and windows every winter without much trouble, but this year I think we got some bad adhesive because our plastic fell off 2 doors and 2 windows after a few days.

I bought this product thinking it was the heat shrinking wrap you apply a hair dryer to to get it to look nearly like non-existent film. This was not that product. So be ready for wrinkles and crease lines in your vision.

I will admit, I was a bit apprehensive in trusting this would work outdoors. But, it really does an amazing job! I put it up across my back windows, where I usually get bad drafts. Went up easy, stayed in place throughout this winter weather, storms, rain. Still holding up! Found a gem. My home is a lot warmer this winter, thanks to this product. Will definitely buy again.

Our problem area was a cluster of three single pane windows in one very large wall frame. The composite frame was too large for one plastic sheet to cover and the indoor window frame faces were on two planes. Fortunately the outdoor frames of the separate windows were all on one plane so two exterior kits were workable.Outdoor temperatures were problematic due to the time of year so, even though I waited until the thermometer said 51 degrees outside to do the installation, I used a double line of tape around the windows to increase the chances of getting good adherence to the wood frame. Plenty of tape is provided in the kit.Installation on the smaller window was a piece of cake. However, the only reason I don't award 5 stars to the product is because the plastic on the very large window has fairly permanent, angled creases (from being folded in the box) which are visible in the right light and inhibit the plastic from unfolding evenly.These creases make it necessary to do lots of repositioning trying to reduce puckering on the uncreased side as one side is effectively gathered up in the creases while the other side is not. Using a hairdryer to shrink the plastic to solve this problem is not recommended as there is a concern that the plastic may shrink too much and come loose, especially when sun can heat and shrink the plastic further. However, because no sun ever hits these windows I used the hairdryer sparingly but the puckers and creases remain.Ultimately, this is a very good product. It continues to hold a cushion of air between the glass and the outdoor temperatures. The puckers and creases are very minor annoyances (and only obvious in the right light) while the problem of cold and water condensation on the inside of the windows is hugely ameliorated. I highly recommend this product for the exterior when interior installation is not possible.

Tape adhered to window frame the way it was suppose to do👍But the 3m insulating kit I used along with it the plastic Would Not adhere to the tape. “And YES I did take the outer film OFF the tape”. Installed kit on patio door used dryer to do a neat job👍Next morning all the plastic was laying on the floor🤬tape was still stuck to frame no problem there. Not sure I would by either 3m product again

I use this for all my window shrink, nothing better.

The color of the protective tape is slightly different from the same product that comes in the insulator kits. The adhesion seems to be the same. I had some corners come off on the film side, 2 days after the application. Reapplied them as is and they seem to stay. Since then I made a habit of pressing the seal after heat-shrinking the film, and no seal breakage reoccurred.
