One Year In: Still the Best Bag I've Ever Owned
Photographer, Technologist, Traveler? This Is The Bag That Became My Mobile Office... I've had the MindShift 13 Sling for almost a year, and I can confidently say it's the best bag I've ever owned. No sponsorship, no freebies — just a genuine appreciation for a product that gets it right. I'm a full-time creative technologist, part-owner of a semi-pro soccer club (Real Central NJ), and an amateur sports photographer. I also do headshots and run a business, Polarity, that helps clients generate AI avatars and marketing content. I needed a bag that could flex between all those roles — something more like a mobile office than just a camera bag — and this one nailed it. * The design is deceptively spacious. I still don't understand how it's bigger on the inside, but it fits everything I need: * Sony A7C with Tamron telephoto lens * Extra Samyang lens * XY mic * Mini tripod * Cables, adapters, SD card reader, USB hub * Laptop * Mobile Bluetooth speaker * 3-outlet extension cord + laptop power brick * High-speed power bank * Rain cover (included) * And so much more, all the little things: pens, Tylenol, lens wipes, brush cleaners, glasses, even masks for commuting Every compartment is smartly designed, with adjustable dividers and tons of organizational pockets. There are also handy external clips and stirrups, which I use to strap on a light jacket or small tripod. Even fully packed, the bag remains comfortable and balanced across my back — I often sling it cross-body and forget it's there. It’s rare to find a product that understands hybrid creative workflows like this. Whether I’m shooting a soccer match, editing in a café, or bouncing between client meetings in NYC or around the country, this bag keeps up. If you're a creative professional, photographer, or just someone who wants thoughtful design and real utility, this is the one.

Outstanding Sling Bag
This bag is very similar to the outstanding Think Tank TurnStyle 10 sling bag. I needed a lightweight, comfortable bag for the smallish Micro Four-thirds Olympus/Panasonic system for use while hiking, riding bikes, motor cycles, horseback, etc. The TurnStyle 10 fills those needs well and is often used as a general bag. The bag only weighs 1 pound, is super comfortable - which are big pluses. Yet there are two things I would have liked in the design – a way to carry a water bottle and a way to carry a tripod, monopod, or light stand/umbrella. The MindShift Gear PhotoCross 10 bag includes more water resistant materials and zippers and the means to carry a water bottle and strap on items one may wish to take with them. The front and bottom of the bag is a tough waterproof material so I have no concern about setting the bag down in water or mud. At 2 lbs. it is twice as heavy as the Turn Style 10 but is just as comfortable, if it not more so, to wear all day. These sling bags are the lightest, best, and most useful sling bags of the dozen I have tried over the years. Near the same size as the TurnStyle 10 I can pack more items in the bag. Currently in the bag I have: an Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II camera, an Olympus 12-40mm f/2.8 lens, 42.5mm f/1.2, 7-14mm f/4.0, 35-100mm f/2.8, 100-400mm f/4.0-6.3 Panasonic lenses in the large compartment. The Olympus FL50-R and FL-600R flash units, spare batteries and other small accessories in the front pocket and mesh pockets at the top of the main compartment – all which weigh in at 12 lbs. And there is still room for a 10” tablet. On the outside I have a 20oz. water bottle and a travel sized tripod attached. Grab/carry Handles at the top and on a side of the bag are very welcome. Unique to this sling bag is a load-lifter strap on the shoulder strap and another on the waist belt. These allow you to fine tune how the bag rest against your body and they make significant difference in comfort. Highly Recommend for the outdoor adventurer!

Nearly perfect for the on the go photographer
After looking for a sling camera bag for a while, I landed on this bag. The design is nice, it easily fits the DSLR and lenses I like to carry around, including my 70-200mm. The bag is rugged and the quality and choice of fabrics is perfect. After using it for about a month, there are a few things I don’t like. First, prolonged use seemed to really make my shoulder sore. The waist belt helps, but is narrow and not padded and can be difficult to snug up nicely. Second, with camera gear in the main section the front section gets squished and can be a little tough to get things in/out. The main section does come with Velcro dividers for customizing your storage, but I would’ve liked a few more included. I ended up using some from my old bag for more options. Finally, while I can carry the 70-200mm lens in the bag easily, I haven’t figured out how to do so with the lens attached to the camera while also having access to the other lenses I like to carry along. All in all, the bag is well made, functional, and meets most of my needs. It’s a little more expensive than other similar bags I’ve seen, and more expensive than my camera backpack, but the price is slightly offset by the exceptional build quality.

Perfect sling bag for me and my Olympus
I received this model 10 yesterday and took it on a 2.5 hour photo hike through a nearby wooded park this morning. I absolutely love it. Easily fits my OM-1 camera with attached 40-150 f2.8 pro lens, and a spare lens also my 12-40 f2.8 pro. For MFT these are big and heavy. I placed additional items easily into the pack. Camera and lenses are easily and quickly accessible. I bought a 2-pack of tactical backpack shoulder pads for $9.99 on Amazon and added one of them to the strap. Matches perfectly. The maker of the backpack should consider including one of these with purchase. I also used an included tripod strap to better secure my large water bottle. Comes with waist strap but not needed for hiking. I didn’t use the included rain cover today but it does fit well if needed. Also, I love the look - very outdoorsy versus other boxy looking slings more suited for urban walks. Highly recommend.

Having to constantly put the bag over your head each and every time you have to put it on or put it off due to the fact that the company didnt add a cheap plastic buckle in the middle of the shoulder strap for easier handling is a drag. Had to return the bag. The zippers are also not double zipped. You have to drag a single zip across the entire pocket each time you need to open or close it. This bag could have been so much better if it had those things. Also the bag sags. And doesnt really stay fit. Not designed well. Had to return mine. For me at this price there are better options. And for shoulder bag this thing is pretty big. Probably why it sags and doesnt really stay put.

This bag is very nice for smaller cameras, but to small for larger cameras such as Canon 5d mark iv with 28-105 zoom lens

I wanted a slingshot bag so I had less faffing time when I saw I shot that needed another lens, and also prevent having to put my bag on the floor. This bag is a little smaller than I expected, but it is like a tardis. I can fit inside my a7, 24-105mm, 35mm, 55mm, 21mm, 85mm lenses. Plus a few extra bits and bobs like batteries and filters. Just not quite enough space for a flash, and platypod as well, but there is still space for an ipad or small lap top in a dedicated pouch. There are two additional straps inside with strong clips for attaching a tripod or monopod (or coat:)). The bag looks great, and is female friendly since the strap goes between not over your boobs. I am left handed, and find it weird having the strap going the opposite way I would normally choose, but once the bag is swung around everything is accessible from either hand so I am happy with that. If I had a niggle, it would only be that the adjustment straps are quite long. There are elastic loops to help you tidy them up, but that is a faff. Overall, best camera bag I ever owned. And I have quite a few from various reputable companies.
