Love it!
Super happy with it! This is a definitely more expensive reel (trout: 15 size), but it’s very solid, seems very durable, and reels smoothly! If you fish ultralight gear often, you might want to check this out!

Lacking Refinement
After using Quantum products consistently I decided to give the Smoke X a try at the $159 price point. While not completely disappointed, there were a few factors that made me decide to return this product.First - the Vapor reels have nearly identical specs, with the benefit of slightly lighter weight and lower price point. Second - this reel straight out of the box, unloaded with line feels like it struggles with smoothness. The Optix series runs smoother, not an understatement. It seems like the higher price for these reels is based upon slick coloring and marketing, not enhanced performance.For these reasons, I'll be returning the product and going back the the Vapor series.

I really, REALLY want to like this reel...
The construction of this reel is very nice. It feels good and solid in my hand and seems to have some real quality components used to make it. The knob has great grip wet or dry. The spool has a nice grip ring to help your line keep from slipping and the bail is quite smooth to open and close. BUT......For the price of the reel, it just doesn't feel very smooth when reeling it. It's almost like the whole reel was constructed with high quality parts except for the bearings. I know bearings can be replaced but for the price being paid for this, you shouldn't have to. I Like the look and feel, and really really want to like the reel overall, but I find myself using my other spinning rigs instead of grabbing for this one just because it doesn't seem to operate as smoothly as my others. :(

Nice, lightweight & durable
I really like this reel. I put it on a 7' rod and use it for throwing soft plastics and it works great. I have had several Quantum reels before this one, and it performed as expected. It's not heavy, but still has a strong and durable feel to it like it's made well. The color scheme is also pretty cool. Very nice reel!
