There Was a Speech Teacher Who Swallowed Some Dice

I am a huge fan of all the books loosely based on the story “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly”…. I actually prefer them over the original. So imagine my delight to see there is now one with a SLP theme! For folks who might get cranky over the term “speech teacher”….. get over it. That’s what kids usually call you if you work in a school and the full term “speech-language pathologist” doesn’t really flow well in the context of this type of book title or repeated readings in the story. Any speechie who has ever done school-based therapy will get a kick out of this book. I laughed out loud several times! I love that the author included info about the items mentioned in the book. This book would be a fun way to introduce new students to some things they might see in speech therapy. She also includes a scavenger hunt check list. I always make story props to go with these types of books and had fun finding pics online for the 17 items she swallows in the book. You can find the free printables on my omazingkidsllc.com blog :)

I got this book for my school rotation supervisor and she thought it was really cute!

Cute book and she really liked it. However, the printing seems to be done poorly and some of it is black while some is more gray tone.

This book is so fun. I gave it as a gift to a speech pathologist friend. She loved it! Books about speech teachers are few to none so I was happy to find this one.
