Works as Expected
The wedge design really does work by dramatically increasing the surface area which needs to be clogged, before the downspout is fully clogged. By adding one of these wedges, gutter maintenance frequency can be substantially reduced.

Stops downspout clogs but still need cleaned.
Stops debris from clogging downspouts great but still need to be taken out and cleaned. If not cleaned your gutters will overflow with water because it can't get thru the plugged up guards.

Nice Gutter Guards
After a couple of seasons with the new gutters and downspouts, I was ready for some gutter/downspout guards. Four of my gutter downspouts (for which I really needed these) go under the flowerbeds and then open up in the yard. They are difficult to clean out, so I needed something. The photos show how they were packaged in the sets, taken out, then snapped apart (this was somewhat of a challenge), and then snapping them together. The way my gutters were put on, it was rather difficult to get them where I wanted them. However, with a little creativity and "jerry-rigging", I got the downspouts covered (you can see the last photo, I shoved part of it under the spike and managed to force together the upper version over/around the spike. I didn't dare take out any spikes and then try to put them back. It's been several months and we have had a number of storms, high winds, etc., so as I was hanging Christmas lights, I checked these out. They survived and stayed in place through all of the storms and winds, they held back the leaves and debris. I am pleased with the purchase and would purchase again. I wish there were easier ways to work around the spikes and closeness of the spaces. Not sure what I would have done differently - maybe the angled piece come in different heights/angles for such super close work? I don't know. But they have worked great and I am really glad I got them.

Wish they worked...but don’t.
Sadly these guards do not work as advertised. Installed them after a huge rainstorm clogged up my downspouts. The very next rain storm (approx 2 days later) I had to climb on the roof and remove them. Very fine debris from budding tree leaves totally plugged all 5 I installed just days before. Threw all of them out. Still looking for a reliable way to keep the gutters clean and the water flowing. Sorry they simply don’t work.

Stops debris from going to the downspout
After going thru the hassle of unclogging my downspout (I noticed that my gutters were filling up and overflowing instead of draining), I decided to try these fast easy solutions instead of install a full length gutter guard (I've heard they can get worse and when clogged are even worse). They works as advertised and prevented a lot of debris from going down my downspout (see photo). While it may slow down the draining of water, it wasn't enough to revert to my previous condition where water was overflowing the sides of the gutter. This still requires me to climb the ladder to clean out the build-up routinely, but was easy and much better than trying to snake out my downspout. I would recommend to other to at least try because it's not a huge investment in time or money and you may be pleasantly surprised on the effectiveness.

Seasonal cleaning required
Found I needed to screw in place to keep from moving in my downspout and had tendency to collect debris (leaves & asphalt pebbles) at low end of wedge and behind, requiring seasonal removal. If you have a choice, get 5” gutters so debris collection doesn’t become an issue. I will do that now due to climate change. I found that 5” was essential in Florida and we’re now seeing these kinds of storms.

Excellent Product
I have purchased three sets of these now and have them in all my gutters at every downspout they work well do not get messed up by wind or heavy rains and do a better job in my opinion than gutter guards and things like that

Did not fit in my standard gutter
The round extension that would drop into the downspout was too large. It would have been better if it was rectangular. My gutters are all braced right above the downspout so the guard was too tall to fit without removing and reattaching the gutter braces even after removing the extension underneath.
