Brought my Wii U Pad back to life.
My Wii U gamepad had a bad battery for a while and constantly had to be plugged up. Now with this battery, I'm able to play my Wii U games again without constantly sitting by the plug to keep the pad charged.

Doesn’t come with y screwdrivers
I ordered this twice, and both times it arrived without the Y screwdrivers. Battery works, but it’s so small for the price I would buy a different version. This one has an inflated price for the screwdrivers they don’t actually send.

Great value battery replacement
Purchased this item to replace a battery on my WiiU that was not longer holding a charge for more than an hour or so. Installing this replacement was super-easy - no real technical knowledge required. It even came with the little screwdriver needed to open up the remote control. Once that was done, it was as simple as disconnecting the old battery and inserting this new one. I charged it fully overnight before use, and the next day was able to get many hours of life from my controller. In fact, I was unable to run the battery down entirely, so this replacement battery has excellent durability!

Really brought my Wii U Gamepad back to life
My OEM Wii U Gamepad battery still works to this day, it discharges within a week if I don't use it and gets about 3 hours of playtime before it dies, so when I got this replacement battery I figured if it didn't work well I could always go back to the OEM one and aside from the relatively rapid discharge, get the same performance as it had out of the box as far as playtime but if the new battery didn't discharge so fast it would be a nice improvement as I don't always play the Wii U super consistently (I don't really like leaving batteries sitting on chargers unused for long periods either, it tends not to be good for them) as I've got a lot of consoles and I built my own arcade cabinet, so there's a lot of games jockeying for my time.As soon as I got this battery I took the original one out of the gamepad, popped this one in and powered it up. It had a charge right out of the box and after doing a brief test just to make sure everything was on the up and up I put it on the charging dock and went to work to give it plenty of time to get a full charge before I really started putting it to the test. The very first thing I wanted to test was the idle discharge rate, so over the course of two and a half weeks I just let it sit on the table, periodically powering it up and checking the battery indicator. It consistently showed full (but more on that later). After two weeks of it continuing to show full I started playing on it in handheld mode to see if it still had good play time, playing Yoshi's crafted world. I'm not sure that the particular game played matters all that much as it's streaming the game from the console with the console itself doing the heavy lifting but I got a decent amount of gameplay out of it, not actually timing it, but it felt like a good amount of time based on my experience with the original battery. When it finally died near the end of week 3 I put it back on the charger satisfied that the discharge issue is definitely resolved vs the OEM battery as it would've been dead with zero gameplay after two and a half weeks, let alone given me a few hours of playing on top of that. After the second charge I started playing Devil's Third, which I was fortunate to pick up years ago (Fun game, but best to emulate at this point because the cost of the disc is outrageous now) and I started timing how long it took to kill the battery. Initially I was going to play it straight through until it died but after 2 hours the battery indicator was still showing all bars full, so I had to put it down. Over the next week I played it until it died, adding up all the game time. I had rumble on and half the time I had the gamepad speakers on and half the time I didn't as it started to become a little distracting having sound come from the gamepad speakers and my TV and I also briefly played in handheld mode once, for maybe 15 to 20 minutes. When I turned it on today, about 3 hours and 46 Minutes or so in, it finally showed me one of the bars missing in the battery gauge instead of reading full. However, 7 minutes into playing the game told me that my gamepad battery was running low. I thought about playing until it fully died, but since I'm at a point in the game where that screen popping up is going to lead to even more restarts than the multiple enemies ventilating me simultaneously are already doing, I figured I'd call it and throw it back on the charger and start again with a fresh charge.I'm not 100% sure on this but it seems like the Wii U goes from a full battery indicator for the bulk of the playtime and then within the last 30 to 40 minutes shows reduced battery and then low battery warnings. I didn't feel like the indicator really told me how much juice I had left. That being said, not sure if it's the battery, the Wii U, or just my preception. Not really much of a deal for me as any other time with the old battery, I just played it until it said the battery was low and then I charged it.Total playtime officially was at 3:53 minutes but if you played until it died outright you could probably get it to 4 hours or so. That's significantly longer than the OEM battery would last as it pretty much topped out at 3 hours. So this battery has worked fantastically as the idle battery discharge issue is resolved and the playtime is drastically increased. That extra 45 minutes to an hour turned out to be kind of a big deal too as I'm more enticed to pick up the gamepad and keep it by my couch knowing there will be less times I've got to walk it back across the room to charge it. So I'm getting more Wii U in now. Might even make a run at Xenoblade Chronicles X finally. All in all, if you are looking to replace your Wii U Gamepad battery, this one has really good performance and holds it's charge well. Also, install is very easy on these batteries. Remove the screw on the plate in the middle of the back of the gamepad, pull the plate off, disconnect the cable, pull the battery out, insert and plug in the new one, replace the plate, you're done. No special skills or tools required which is nice because I know a lot of people get intimidated by taking things apart. It's pretty fool proof.

Misleading Product Images - ONLY 1 Screwdriver is included
It DOES NOT include three screwdrivers as shown in the pictures. Only one Philips is included in the box alongside the battery. I was going to use this kit to fix the drifting issue as well, but sadly you can only use the screwdriver to open the battery cover.

Works! WiiU game pad is restored
Our WiiU game pad has only been useable while connected to the charger for a year or more. Annoying, as you could only sit in one spot in the house to use it.This battery works great so far! My husband took the old one out and put this one in in no time - the included tool was handy, thank you. We charged it and now the game pad is as good as new. Very pleased with this product. Hope it lasts a good long time.
