Great beard balm with a nice neutral scent
Why does every men's beard product need to have a "woodsy" smell as if we're all lumberjacks or something? I am allergic to cedar and similar woods so I was happy to find this balm. The scent is pleasant and I really like the consistency that makes it easy to apply to my beard. I have not noticed any build-up from this on either my comb/brush or my beard. Very nice. I have also used the Bulldog beard wash and the beard oil. The beard wash is great, if not a bit thin with a similar smell. The beard oil I bought from a local store smells a tiny bit rancid to me. Could just be a bad bottle.

Excellent product
I’ve tried beard balm’s before, and they just did not work. They were either too waxy, too smelly, too ineffective, etc. I decided to give this one a try because I’ve used this brand for facial moisturizer before and I love it. I am blown away by how well this works. It helps eliminate discomfort from dry scratchy beard, it helps control my beard and makes it look tame and groomed, and it legitimately softens my beard (which no product has been able to do before). It smells great too, and it’s a subtle. I will continue using this product for as long as they make it!

Great for Skin; Sticky on Hair
Let's start by pointing out the positives:- 4-Star rating.- Smells great.- Applies easily.- Feels awesome, especially if kept refrigerated.- Stops the dreaded "beard itch" that newbies may experience when growing their first beard.- Works great at replenishing moisture in the SKIN beneath beards. But here's the bad news:- Leaves longer hair feeling sticky/tacky.- Doesn't make grooming long beards any easier.Bulldog really missed their mark when it comes to MARKETING. There are far, FAR better products for taming and grooming beards. The best products for grooming beards contain a variety off oils and waxes.Bulldog Balm is best at making the early days of growing a beard more pleasant. By moisturizing the skin with aloe vera and camelina oil, there's no uncomfortable itch that makes lots of men give up on their beards.I recommend using this balm liberally in the first month or two of growing your beard. After that, send the Bulldog to the dog pound and switch to a beard wax or oil.

Perfect for me; dry/matte on the beard, moisturizes, and provides volume and hold
This stuff is amazing for my chin to chest length beard. It is nourishing for the beard and skin while not leaving your beard and face oily.I like to use this as my primary balm. It gives my beard volume and actually makes it feel fuller (oil causes clumpy and stringy appearance) while not causing it to clump together and appear greasy/stringy. I also use Grave Before Shave, Bearded Bastard, Detroit, Husky and many other name brands that I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on with trying to maintain my beard and a professional/clean appearance. I speak from much experience with a lot of products… oils… beard balms… beard butters…I still like to add a light coat of other branded beard balms on the outside of my beard to give a little shine and hold after I message the Bulldog beard butter into my beard and on my skin underneath... not often though. The fragrance of this balm is light and doesn’t last too long… my other balms easily overpower the sent of Bulldog beard balm even with just tiny amounts applied… I’m very sensitive to fragrances. Although they can give me migraines, I still enjoy them. I never apply more than a dime sizes pinch to my outside beard with other oils/balms/butters when paired with the Bulldog bear balm. This butter is one of a kind and I haven’t found anything like it on the market (not exaggerating by any stretch). May or may not be for you, but I highly recommend giving it a try. The price is reasonable at $8-9. I’m VERY happy with the product. This is a staple for my daily hygiene and I'd be HUGELY disappointed if this product was ever discontinued. For my routine, I apply some Bulldog balm in the morning (midday if outside/active/exercising) and before bed... about nickel sized, rub completely throughout beard after rubbing it in my hands. While the beard is still moist, I comb and shape it. It'll dry in around 5 minutes to a matte and slightly dry texture (yes, the hair is hydrated). If I want a sheen and fragrance to the beard, I apply about three drops of one of my beard oils. Stray hairs are tamed, hair spacing (volume) is just right, and I'm ready to conquer the day.

Not bad, not great.
The scent is not great, in my opinion. However, it does an ok job of softening my beard without leaving a waxy or greasy feel.

No grease, no smell, no problems
My beard is wiry and painful if I don't use a beard balm. After showering I dry my beard about 90 percent, apply some beard oil, then massage some of this in. It doesn't have a lingering smell, but my beard is soft, no itching or pain, and it's not greasy. It lets me take care of my beard without looking like I'm trying too hard. There is no residue on my phone after it dries, which is maybe 15-30 minutes. My beard is thick and maybe 4-6 inches long at the chin and one can lasts about 60 days.

So far so good?
I've never used a beard balm before, and did some research before I purchased Bulldog. I like the scent, and it seems to mosturize and keep my beard from getting unruly, though to be honest it's not wild to begin with. Reviewers complain that they are only getting half the product in the jar, but I think that because it's more of a light cream than a paste, it moves around in the jar and when it arrives can shift so that the jar looks half empty.
