Great plugs, but with one minor fastening caveat.
These plugs are very similar to ones I've used before, but there is a slight difference in screw-down depth that inhibits a secure wire connection. Either the plastic color ring might be too thick or the screw threads aren't long enough to securely fasten 16 gauge speaker wire without bunching it into a "knot". My other plugs have enough thread to fasten a twisted strand that's merely threaded through the eyelet. If you get these and have smaller gauge speaker wire, make sure you remove enough sheathing to fold over the wire strands and build up enough bulk to ensure a tight connection.

These banana plugs are very nice for the price
These banana plugs are very nice for the price. They are heavy, well made, and work nicely. My only gripe is that the package doesn't include instructions. I'd never hooked up banana plugs to wire before and my first go around I couldn't figure out how to keep the wire from pulling loose from the plug. After watching a few videos about the subject of screw type banana plugs, I figured out that you will want to strip the insulating jacket to expose about 1 inch of wire. When you put the wire through the knurled piece, you will want to twist the wire up and compress it into a ball shape. Then just screw it all the way in and it should stay in place. If it wiggles free and pulls out, use more exposed wire. I used 16 ga. wire and 1 inch works about perfect.

A design flaw that could have been easily avoided. Look elsewhere
The screw shank does not screw in all the way. This leads to an inability to clamp down snugly on a side-inserted speaker cable. I'm using 12 AWG and the fit is still loose. This product definitely would not work with smaller gauge cables. You can get a bit tighter clamp by removing the end cap gasket but I suspect this is not the way plug should be used. The gasket is intended as a sort of lock washer. A design flaw that could have been easily avoided. Look elsewhere.

very well built
I got these t use for a model rocketry launch box. they are very solidly constructed, and the only reason gave a 4 star on value is because they are a it on the pricey side. but other than that i highly recommend.

Heavy duty
These are heavy duty plugs. I used 12awg wire so I didn't have the issues that others where talking about where the wire would pull back out.

Connecting the wire
The plugs look great, but it took a while to figure out how to connect the wires so that they didn't pull out. I used 18 gauge stranded wire and the only way I could make them work, is to strip the wire back 1/2" bend it over twice so that there was wire across the end. Then the wire is jammed between the two pieces as they are threaded together. If I tried to fan the wire out, as the instructions show, the threads would jam.

They look great and quick and easy disconnect for speakers!
Honestly these are the first banana plugs I've ever tried, but I don't see anything I could benefit from by paying double for another kind. They are good quality, they fit great, sturdy, and the main reason I got these was for the easy removal and install of my speakers. I do have to agree with other reviewers though that either the screw isn't long enough of the colored washer is too thick that it doesn't allow the screw to clamp down on smaller gauge wire. In my case most of my wires were solder dipped and provided some extra surface for the banana plug screw to grab onto.

Perfect use through side opening.
It is well made with a nice finish but connecting the wire through the center of the plug does not work too well. If you are going to use the side opening to connect the wire, it works great for that. If you use the cable through the center, you will need to take the red or black ring out to get a good hold/pinch of the bare wire for solid connection. Otherwise cable will pull out. I am using a 14gauge speaker cable.
