it's metal first of all and the spikes are very pointy. the purple and pink one look similar under different lights. depending on your hair type (i have straight and somewhat thin hair) the sturdiness is okay. it felt loose for my hair without an elastic.

Omg, I love these clips so much, the colors are beautiful. I personally have very thin hair and they hold it very well. They don't feel loose and have a tight comfortable grip on my hair. Overall 10 of out 10 for me, I've had metal clips before and they are very durable, these also feel like they are very good quality.

These are very pokey on anything but very thick hair. Had to put plastic caps on claw ends, to save my scalp.
