Effective proprietary product. Like printer ink cartridges, the device will not work without continuously replenishing the expensive, proprietary solution cartridges. My Cat Genie processor was indicating "empty cartridge" well before contents were expended. Customer service for Cat Genie is responsive, and swift, but also not cheap. I had to ship them the processor (they paid), and pay $25 refurb fee, as I was out of warranty. They did give me 2 replacement cartridges, which recovers the expense of the refurb. All I invested then was time and effort to uninstall, pack, ship, wait, reinstall. I don't know if the refurb works, I'm using a back up Genie for a while.Cat Genie is great, wouldn't think of having cats without one, but with this system, once they have you, you don't escape. The processor failure was not of my doing, and required customer dedication to rectify.

Good stuff! Had the Genie for 3+ years now, and LOVE not having to scoop litter now that I'm pregnant. So much easier to sweep up scattered granules than dusty sticky smeary clay litter. Make sure to use the maintenance packs regularly to avoid the dreaded triple beep.I used to have an amazon subscription for these, but last year they discontinued the sub option, and now they doubled in price - buy from CatGenie directly. I think the company is shifting to sell direct instead of third party re-sellers, and they have various options with combo bundles and multi-packs.

With the heated dry cycle, there are always little flecks of poo in the granules, and unscented lets the poo smell go everywhere. I didn't realize it when I hit "buy" that I had bought the unscented, but I figured I'd use them. Since it's on "cat activation" it takes quite a while to go through them, but I believe they're almost done.If you're trying to decide which ones to get, get the scented ones. Much better than unscented.

I have purchased the scented ones for about a year and I hated the fact that it always left the hallway smelling like an airplane toilette -- eww! So I got these Scent Free ones and was very happily surprised that they clean without leaving any kind of an odor (yes, I think the Scented ones are not pleasant at all and refer to them as an odor).The unscented clean just as well. My kitties seem happier too!

First of all, the Cat Genie is the best litter box invention of the century. These sani solution cartridges are great. I love the scent free the best because everything smells so clean and sanitized. They are easy to use by just pulling out the empty and putting in a new one.

An EPIC cat litter system BUT, locks you in with the device via an encrypted chip behind it's lable that if not renewed... Render's the $300 unit down to a hand scooping litter box.

I have two cats and bad knees. The litter box is in the basement. Thanks to the Cat Genie and the effective sani-solution, I don't need to make several daily trips downstairs to clean the kitty potty. The Sani-solution cleans the Cat Genie and kills odors. The litter box is always clean. I love it!

Love this product. Keeps the Cat Genie clean. No odors ever. So easy to use. I have five cats so this is very important to me. Great invention because it is a very sanitary way to deal with what would be a very big and nasty job.
