To Expensive for What it Does
Way overpriced for what you get. The only thing that works with the AMP Xtreme running boards is the switch and not the controller. Trying to use the controller will burn out your fuse. These is nothing in the instructions on how to use with the other controller. Also, since my boards have LEDs I had to make a tool to move the power wires for the LEDs to the wire harness. I would not buy away. I would make my own switch for $10.

Override with joy!
I was so excited to be able to install AMP Research Powersteps on my 2008 Toyota Land Cruiser 200. Everyone said it wasn't possible, but I did it with the AMP Research 75137-01A PowerStep for Tundras (cutting the boards to 67 inches) and they work exactly as advertised. Due to disability I require the Powersteps to get in my vehicle, but needed them up and stowed when I egress. I love the fact that I can use the 10-79105-1A Override switch to retract when I get out, but then when I go to get back in the system resets within 30 seconds, is already ready to actuate (regardless of the switch position) and the boards still extend when I open the door. Install was so easy and all the parts were included with enough wire to run the switch for about 9-10 feet. I love it so much!!

It's just what I've been looking for
I like that it works like they said it would. I don't like the cost and my other control wouldn't work. The installation was easy to do.

Worked
My steps would periodically not retract. I changed out the power receiver and it's fixed. Unplug the old, plug in the new. No problems since.

Buyer Beware
I purchase this for a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I share with a much shorter person. They need to steps to get in and out, but I do not. I found that after you retract the steps, and then cycle the doors and 30 seconds, the controller resets back to normal no matter what position the switch is in. I contact AMP Research directly and they did reply within 24 hours, and stated that this how the switch and controller was designed. If you are using on a Jeep without doors it should work, but if you still are using the doors, the switch and controller are basically worthless. You can manually block the steps open or closed without this controller for loading or maintenance. I am very displeased this functionality especially for the cost of this option. Since I already have it installed and wired in, it would take me more to uninstall than it is worth.

Great way to switch running boards always up or always down all the time plus still allows auto mode in center switch position

Works nicely
Works as advertised. Switch is a little cheap feeling and price is kind of high, considering how much I already paid for the steps.
