This item was easy to install and perfect replacement. Water has not been better. And the water softener works better.

Great product, sockets worked fine on my Rheem unit for remove and replace. Rented an impact wrench and busted the old anode free in 5 seconds.

I bought a new geothermal water heater. After a week, the hot water started smelling horrible with sulfer (rotten egg smell). I bought an aluminum rod to replace the Mg rod thinining that would fix it. Nope. It was better, but after a month the horrible smell was back. I broke down and spent the money for the Corro-Protec anode. It's been 6 months and NO SMELL! I'm not too worried about if it actually protects the tank, because when I looked at the rod that was in the 23 year old water heater I replaced, I discovered someone had cut off the original anode. I bought it new at a big box store and I know I didn't cut it off. So, it never ever even had one and the tank was fine. I used a boroscope to look :) 'cause I was curious.

BUY THIS KIT! You will need it. Probably don't realize that the OLD Anode and the NEW Anode are different socket sizes. The kit also comes with teflon tape, added bonus that is also a must. Word to the wise, DO NOT overtighten when installing the NEW Anode rod. Ps they are 1/2 drive.

I thought i had the sockets, i purchased just in case. Come to find out i didn't and so glad i ordered these. 1/2" drive breaker worked well.
