Flavor is very bad
Beware buying any sumac on Amazon. I have purchased 7 brands of Sumac in my entire life. The last three I have purchased on Amazon have been absolutely horrible. You can't return them either. These companies could literally be selling colored saw dust and Amazon won't give you a refund or do anything about it.Horrible product. Went to a local middle Eastern grocery to finally buy real sumac. Trustworthy brands are Baraka, Sadaf, and Ziyad.

What Can I Say about Ground Sumac?
As enthusiastic, fearless and reasonably competent amateur cooks, my wife and I often prepare ethnic meals from all over the world. Our library of more than 500 international cookbooks (plus the Internet, of course) takes us on frequent journeys on the delicious culinary trails of authentic, traditional cuisines of any and all global cultures. The Middle Eastern meals that we make are some of our favorites, and many dishes from there and other areas around the Mediterranean call for bright, tangy, lemony sumac as a finishing touch. We always have a good supply on hand to use in spice mixes such as our homemade za’atar, in hummus, on salads and especially sprinkled liberally on our Persian meals, such as the miveh dami (rice with fruit) that’s in my picture. The ground sumac in this two-cup plastic shaker jar from Unpretentious Baker is as good as any that we’ve used. The label and the Product Description are silent about its origin, although it’s “packaged in the USA,” but that’s not a big deal. “Sumac” is the only ingredient listed, so that’s a good thing. If you’re a fan of sumac, you can’t go wrong with this big jar. Five stars for quantity, quality and its all-around cool vibe.
