WranglerMen's 13MWZ Cowboy Cut Original Fit Jeans
4**8
As good as you're going to get for this little money.
I am reviewing the rigid denim 13MWZ, purchased May 2017.These classic Cowboy Cuts are the best bang for the buck out there. In terms of design, Cowboy Cuts are an improvement on Levi's in many ways that make a difference in everyday use:1) Higher back pockets. This looks better on asses, doesn't look saggy, and it's more practical.2) Wider/deeper watch pocket. The Levi's watch pocket is useless.3) Double-felled outseams, as opposed to double-felled inseams on Levi's. This is more comfortable on inner thighs, and doesn't wear down as quickly.4) Generally thicker denim with a more durable broken-twill weave. Levi's are 10–12 oz. denim, while most colors of Cowboy Cuts are at least 14 oz., and some are over 15 oz. To be fair, some colors of Cowboy Cuts are made from lighter weight denim, but not the standard blues and blacks (mostly light colors like white and tan, and some grays).5) Riveted back pockets.6) Smooth rivet caps so you don't scratch stuff7) More belt loops8) Higher waistband, closer to where a waistband should be on most people (at the belly button).9) Straighter leg than Levi's, from top to bottom. This means they fit tighter in the thighs and ass, but still give you plenty of roominess in the lower legs, without actually being flares. Up high, they fit more snugly and thus stay in place better than Levi's. Even the Levi's that are supposedly straight legged are actually significantly bigger up top than they are down the leg. Outside of old-style loose-straight dungarees, Wrangler Cowboy Cuts are the straightest legged jeans you'll find.In short, they are more practical and more durable than Levi's, just by way of design and materials. Also, they are extremely reasonably priced ($20–$35 vs. $30–$60 for Levi's), and they're still manufactured with some semblance of quality (made in Mexico of U.S. material; Levi's are made all over the place, and only the stupidly expensive ones use U.S.-made fabric). The only "drawback" is that they look "country." They are a more formal (high waisted, tight, neat) looking jean than Levi's, and they don't come in attractive dark indigo washes. The blue is a very bland or even somewhat garish blue. If you feel that way about them, then get them in black and your problems go away.Out of the big three American denim brands (Levi's, Lee, Wrangler), in my experience Wrangler's quality has held up the best over the years. They aren't 100 percent as good as they used to be, but they haven't slipped nearly as badly as Levi's. Lees (which are now owned by the same conglomerate that owns Wrangler) have gone downhill the most; they are garbage jeans these days.Bottom line, I highly recommend these jeans. They are as good as you're going to get for the money these days.

Know What You're Getting! They're Different Than Other Wranglers.
These are well-made, durable jeans, but you need to be aware of some details if you have only worn other Wrangler styles before.First, compared to Wrangler's "Regular Fit" jeans, these "Cowboy Cut" jeans are much slimmer in the waist, lower abdomen, and seat. Also, the pockets are tight to the jeans and not very deep; a thick wallet is tough to get in and out. Finally, the material is board-stiff when new, and requires many washings to soften up.Again, these are good, well-made jeans. No disrespect. But they are different than what you may be accustomed to.

Wranglers Wrock!
Wrangler jeans have always been my choice; 13MWZ style is what I have worn as long as I can recall wearing jeans. There's a saying among Wrangler wearers...if they ain't Wranglers, they ain't jeans. For users new to rigid jeans, there will be a learning curve. The denim in not prewashed or prepared in any way, so they are rigid. Washing them 3 times, inside out, before wearing them will get rid of some of the dye and will loosen them up a bit. You should also NOT machine dry them for the first few washes. Just put them on and do deep-knee bends to help stretch them. Wear them a long time before washing again; Wranglers will last a very long time and need some break-in work.

Great Fit and Look, if Unexpected
If you're familiar with Wrangler jeans you'd find at Target or WalMart (with the "Premium Quality" patch on the waist), you might be surprised. Cowboy Cut Original Fit jeans are higher-waisted and fit a little roomier in the thigh than a straight-leg fit, and at first I was skeptical. But these jeans on their own merits are comfortable, move well and fit snug in the seat and crotch just how I like, and the legs fit great and "stack" nicely over boots. Terrific pair of jeans, once I gave them a chance!

Shrink a lot
They fit fine at first, then every time they are washed they shrink a lot. I also have the same Wrangler jean in the pre washed type (#13MWZPW) (same size) that do not do this. These (#13MWZ) do stretch out after I wear them a little while, but they are hard to get on at first. For some reason the non - pre washed ones like this shrink up more. It's not just the waist and length; even the waist button hole shrinks. I can barely get the button through the hole after washing - I have to force it with a lot of effort. That hole also stretches after wearing them awhile. Then it too shrinks up with the next washing. I am washing them the same way as the pre washed types which do not have the problem. I would definitely not buy the non pre washed type again.

Third time was the charm
I ordered the first pair 33x30 like always. It came way too tight. Then I ordered 34x30 and it came 34x33. The third order was for 34x30 again and it came through 34x30 and it fits just great. Too much work but amazon prime made it go smoothly. UPDATE: DO NOT BUY!!! Here's why: on the second washing they shrunk to where I couldn't wear them. And I bought them oversize: 34x30 instead of 33x30. And no I did not dry them on high heat. I dry everything on the lowest setting. Hope this helps someone. I'm going back to Carhardt even though they wear out too soon. Can't wait for HEMP to be legalized.

Given Wrong Size (But Look Great Know)
Arrived three days early than expected and looked like an amazing product. I really like the feel, style and colour (Rigid Indigo) but there was a problem. It was too big on me. I was confused by this because 32 x 32 is my size and says so on the sticky label I found on the leg. However the inside tag says otherwise, 36 x 32. Clearly there has been a mix-up and I have been given the wrong size by accident.Disappointed I was hoping to try and get another pair sent out to me, but my only option is a refund. So I’ll probably wait a few months before buying again. It’s a shame because I really like the style of the Cowboy Cut (13MWZ) and you can’t get it here in the UK, unless you import it from the USA. So returning is going to be a pain, maybe costly too.I’ll change my review to five stars if I can get the correct size when I’ll decide to buy again. Until then wish me luck with the return process.

Really heavy duty Wranglers from USA.
The special weave heavy duty old fashioned denim is just fabulous after a dozen washes or so. Becomes more pliable with age. These jeans are very long lasting for sure with the typical Wrangler high waist fit and comfort leg without being too tight or baggy. Maybe the fact that these jeans are made in the USA or Mexico to be precise, makes all the difference to feel, fit and finish and that rodeo riders really do wear these is what does it for me.

If you wore Wranglers in the the old Motown/soul days with a suit jacket, you'll love these.
I liked the way they looked and the colour, the way they fit on you're waist above the hips and stay there unlike modern fashion jeans that always slip down under you're tummy. They are THE jeans I used to wear in my younger days and always felt smart in them as I do in theese jeans. The rear pockets with the staples for strength are exactly as they were in the 60s and 70s.Nice heavy denim.

Great quality and value for money
I took a long time to decide whether or not to buy these jeans, based upon the unsurety of the 'bagginess' of the legs. Delivery took only nine days (from the USA) which I thought was more than reasonable. The quality of the denim and the cut of the garment is excellent and reminds me of my first pair of Wranglers bought in 1968. The length and waist sizes are perfect; however, for my personal liking, the jeans are a little too baggy in the leg (I have quite slim thighs). Other than that I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Better then Levis and cheaper.
This is what jeans should be like, high waisted, thick denim, rugged and reliable, unlike other jeans such as levis 501 which are too low waisted now and thin denim, and also better then the fashion wranglers available in shops.Perfect if you are into late 60's northern skin/boot boy style, as these were worn back then, and are still pretty much the same now, go well with levis trucker jacket.Remember to measure your waist when ordering these(just under the belly button) and not your hips, from the pairs i have had they have been pretty much true to size, they are also not as slim as on the picture, which is good.

This colourway does shrink
This black/chocolate denim is not colourfast and does shrink a lot . . I’d advise that the zip and waistband are fastened whilst damp and forcefully stretched. A good high rise tapered waist that eliminates builders crack is a plus, and the thighs don’t look baggyThey are not USA or Mexico made . . Made in Nicaragua but of a heavyweight fabric like the jeans of old except for the colour I intentionally chose. They arrived very quickly and with all the correct labels and well finished . . Time will tell !They’re a gamble in purchasing, but then for a Wrangler Cowboy fit, they’re not expensive. Wrangler’s from UK sources would be double the price

Great jeans.
Bought a few Wrangler's from the USA side of Amazon lately, first time buyer of the Original cowboy cut, rigid denim. Well made, nice colour, slightly tighter in the waistband then I'm used to, usually buy relaxed Jean cut, so this is a departure from them. First time wearing them was odd, felt like a robotic cowboy, but I'm getting used to them, will probably soften up after a few washes, but that will take a while. All in all I'm pleased with them, quality and cut are like when I first started buying my own jeans, when they were made for long time, not fashion throw aways.

Comfortable fit hard-wearing jeans. Good value.
Good heavy denim and a retro, comfortable high-waisted fit. They are very good value compared to similar items on offer and I am very happy with them. Wrangler make a good pair of jeans. The fit is quite generous and so they are not at all tight.

Proper Western Jeans
On a trip to Arizona in the 90's I noticed the locals, including the Navajo, were wearing these Wrangler Pro Rodeo Jeans. I bought two pairs. Since then, i have never been able to find them in the UK. Heavy weight denim jeans at an agreeable price. I am very pleased with this purchase from the US.

DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY... These jeans are not worth the £26.11 I paid for them. First wash on a jeans cycle and they have a white line down both legs where the dye has completely gone. These are fake wrangler. I know wrangler and these are not them. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACE. Bought to go on holiday but hubby says he wouldn't even ware them to his work as a factory manager. NASTY.

Good Value.
Proper jeans. This is a heavy sturdy work jean built to take rough wear. First got a pair in the USA and decided I wanted to getbanher pair of real jeans. As they are Wrangler they fit over the hip (Cowboy Style) I would go up an inch on waist size as most jeans these days fit below the waist. You dont buy these as a fashion statement, more a lifestyle statemene. Very well well made and good value.
