Adorable, Pudgy Plague Doctor “Penguin”! 🐧🖤
[Note: This was a Halloween gift for a plushie-loving family member, who also wrote this review. 🙂]This is a VERY unique little Plague Doctor plush - he’s wonderfully spooky, but positivity endearing! Not scary at all, and the perfect Halloween gift for any child or adult who loves cute, soft plush critters. Right away, this fellow captured my heart. He’s definitely not your average run-of-he mill plague doctor - he’s got a seriously unique design, and he’s super-plump and huggable!Firstly, he’s wearing a monk’s robes, with a little ropy cord around his middle, and a golden cross embroidered very nicely on the very front of his collar (I absolutely LOVE this particular detail! He’s not a sketchy fellow - he’s definitely a sweet little healer!)He’s very plump, chubby, and full, with a big belly, and beans in his rounded bottom/base to give him a very nice weight. He is extremely soft, squishy, a great size, and such a huggable shape. He’s got cute three-digit paws that he can hug you back with, and he’s carrying a lantern around one wrist to bring healing light into the dark night - another fantastic detail! He’s got two stubby, tiny feet poking out from beneath the robe, on his base, his round pudgy tummy, and the most adorable face you could imagine - big round eyes embroidered with unique golden and white rings, and the cutest short lil’ beak! Most plague doctors (as depicted in fiction - plushies, and such media) typically have a white mask and/or a much longer beak, and definitely don’t have such an adorable face, monk robes, golden eye rings, or a pudgy body. He’s just so lovable!I also love the use of all different kinds of fabrics, and the embroidery, that went into making him. He’s a work of art, and such a charming, sweet little character! I couldn’t let go of him once I first opened the package and hugged him - he was even better than I imagined. I love him so much (and he gets along great with all my Hollow Knight plushies!)I realized when I got him that whomever designed him must have used a penguin plush pattern for his basic shape (his round, extraordinarily plump, chubby, rounded body, golden and white eye rings, short beak, and stubby feet), and added in a kindly little healer monk as well. Ingenious ideas! Who doesn’t love penguins!?I also have the very cute and cuddly “Squishables” Plague Doctor plush, but he doesn’t hold a candle to this guy (even though they’re both holding lanterns!). I would definitely recommend this plague doctor plushie if you’re trying to choose between the two - he’s cuter, more unique, and much more huggable and cuddly, in my opinion. The only small issue (as others here have mentioned) is his hat, which although is very well-made and realistic, is hollow and a bit stiff, and can get bent and crunched in shipping, particularly the brim. Though I think I got very lucky, as mine arrived in really good shape and wasn’t too smushed at all. The hat brim on mine is a tad bit rumpled still, but he retained his shape very well, and though the brim of his hat was slightly bent/wrinkled, it was fixable. If you can, I do recommend putting him in the dryer on AIR-DRY for about 10 mins (NO HEAT - you don’t want the plastic beans in his bottom to melt!) to puff and fluff him up a bit, and you can easily stick your fingers underneath his hollow hat and carefully even out the shape if it’s crunched down.I honestly cannot recommend this penguin-like plague doctor enough! He absolutely was made to be loved! Also a fantastic and exceptional Halloween gift that is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

This thing is so cute
This is super cute. I bought this for my little goth daughter and she loves it. It’s actually pretty high quality and stitched well for the price. It’s stuffed tightly and isn’t cheap-looking.

Best Get Well Gift
I first saw this plush version of the plague doctor while home sick with Covid. Thought it was kind of cute, so ordered myself a 'get well' gift!As other reviewers have noted, the doctor arrives vacuum sealed, but within a few minutes, he's plumped up and ready to work! I even washed him in Woolite (gentle cycle, in a mesh laundry bag) and he came out looking just as you see him in the photo. At 12" tall, the plague doctor sits perfectly atop my bed and even stood upright in a chair to help me announce that I'd finally tested negative after 16 days of testing positive! Great little pal...and a reminder of my recent bout with a modern day plague.

So soft and cute
This stuffed toy holds a spot on my bed. It’s so soft and I love the purple outfit and the jack o lantern head. My two year old grandson loves it as well. I didn’t notice a smell, but I let it air out just the same as soon as I received it. Definitely worth the price!

Perfect except for size
It was absolutely adorable and soft, but I wish it came in a larger size. So close to perfection!
