Improved design from original.
I like the way they connected the cable to the probe. Looks like it will be more resistant to wear and tear.

Worked great to replace the broken pit therm that came with my Flame Boss 200.

Some improvements
The original probe that came with my flame boss pulled out of the alligator clip. User error. I pulled on the wire instead of unclipping it.Pros- This alligator clip appears to have a more durable design because the metal clip extends further up the wire. I doubt it will pull out so easily. 2. Perfectly fit the Flame BossCons- 1. the wire is not coated so it kinks fairly easily. I presume the lack of coating is what allows for higher temperature uses. 2. Expensive for a simple wire and clip.

Does not last long
Better have a spare on hand. The life of this produce is a few months at best

Keep these on reorder... they break constantly
Really upset with the quality of this. The original pit probe that came with my Flameboss 300 began reading some wildly off temperatures. it had lasted for over a year and dozens of smoke so I thought, no big deal. I can replace it. I bought 2 in January 2020. one probe lasted a while, failed in Septmeber... was reading pit temps of negative -190?! I ordered another one in September and I'm glad I did because the 2nd one from my order in January lasted 2 smokes. I never use my probes for grilling so they've never been in a temperature over 225... (except when it was reading 100 degrees off and I burnt the crap out of 3 racks of ribs) I don't wash these and I havent had a problem with my other meat probes so I have no idea whats going on with these. not happy that theres an added $120 per year cost to replace the probes for your flame boss. might want to consider a different unit.
