Genuine Synology OEM 10G Ethernet Card
This 10G Ethernet card is made by Synology, so it’s fully supported in DSM. Installation was pretty much plug and play, I wanted to use a Static IP address, so I had some configuration to do in the Synology Control Panel, but if I’d been satisfied with DHCP install would’ve been as easy as installing the card and plugging in an Ethernet cable. Tested with my only computer that supports 10G and got great speeds. The best part is you don’t have to necessarily be running 10G Ethernet to benefit from this card, I highly recommend this upgrade if you’re like me and prefer to run manufacturer official add-ons and you’re running any flavor of Multigig Ethernet (2.5G, 5G, or 10G) in your home. A friend of mine has 2.5G Ethernet in his home and is using this same card, he’s also pleased with its performance. While researching this upgrade I found a lot of third party cards that only support 1G or 10G without support for those in-between multigig standards, so buyer beware if you decide not to go the OEM route.

Good but pricy
Well built. Works great in a DS1821+. Plug it in and it just works.A little pricy, but I guess you have to pay for the logo.

Plug n Play in my 1821+. Runs slightly cooler than X540. Only takes up x4 size.
Plug n play directly in my Synology 1821+. It comes installed with a half-height PCIe bracket already (full height included in box), so its literally plug n play. Unlike other generic Intel X540 or X550 cards that usually have full height PCIe. Works on my 10G switch and my 2.5G switch.

Turbocharge Your 1522+: A Speedy Upgrade with a Luxury Price Tag
TL;DR: Speedy, simple to install, perfect for 1522+, early arrival, pricey, missed initial setup timing, dazzled by 10gbe speeds.Like a knight in shining armor, this gadget swooped in, delivering just the boost my 1522+ needed. Installation was a breeze – it's like this piece of tech was just waiting to click into place, no fuss, no muss. And the speed? It's like jumping from a bicycle to a sports car. The 10gbe speeds are nothing short of exhilarating. But let's address the elephant in the room – the price tag. It's like paying for a gourmet meal when you're used to fast food prices. Yes, it's worth it, but your wallet might need a moment to recover.Adding a twist to the tale, it played hard to get, arriving fashionably late and missing the grand debut at the initial setup. It's like having the perfect dance partner show up after the first few songs.Despite the late entry and the dent in my finances, this upgrade is a game-changer. It's the kind of tech leap that makes you wonder how you ever managed without it. For anyone looking to turbocharge their 1522+, this is your golden ticket – just brace yourself for the price and maybe a bit of a wait.

Great way to boost performance of the NAS
I bought this 10Gbe adapter for my Synology DS1621xs+ to increase one more 10Gbe connection for a total of two. It works as advertised and the installation was simple. Highly recommend this adapter to those who want to experience 10Gbe connection. Once you've tried it, it's hard to go back to gigabit connection.

Easy upgrade to 10GbE
Temper your expectations depending on your NAS. I put this in a 1522+ and now get about 600 megabytes per second transfer, which is the maximum speed of the bus / processor. I knew this by reading the white sheet about the NAS to begin with, so no real surprise. With proper bonding and packet management, you could get similar performance from the 4 built in gigabit ports. Note this card fits several other NAS units that may get better benefit. The install is simple once you find a screwdriver that fits the small head, shallow groves, and wide spread. I think I ended up using a #2 Phillips. Power down the NAS, remove the cover plate, install the mini card, replace the screws, turn the NAS back on and resolve the port changes. The whole process took about 30 minutes mostly fixing the port errors in the DSM and upgrading my security certificates.Would I purchase this again? Yes, I don't want to spend a ton of time researching proper channel bonding and packet management. I already own a 5 port 10GbE switch, so one card, one Cat 6a cable, nearly instant good performance.

A shame this card doesn't come already in the NAS
But it really does work great. NAS is soooo much faster with this card installed. I'm using dual 2TB NVMe for the cache. Really happy with this card. Recommended!

Mighty fine
This was a good upgrade for my new NAS, allowing me to directly connect it to my 10GbE iMac (with static IP addresses on a separate network). Definitely betters the performance over the NAS's default 1GbE (hint: use the Jumbo (9000) MTU frames for the 10Gbase-T speed).Fortunately my CalDigit TS3 Plus was able to pick up the slack of not having to do anything except configure it to do all the 1GbE networking (via a separate ethernet cable) on my everyday MacOS. On the rare occasions when I revert to Mojave though, the TS3 Plus I have now (a replacement for an older one that failed after several years), doesn't support that option so it just uses the iMac's wi-fi. Both perform similarly in my situation so no big deal, though I do prefer hard-wired if at all possible.
