5 Stars with a couple of caveats and disclaimers
I purchased this USB C to get faster speeds from my external SSD drives and 3.1 gen USB flash drives. Is it faster than my other USB 3.0 hubs by other brands, yes with a couple of things to know before you buy. 1) This is the most obvious, your computer's USB C port must support the Gen 2 Usb 3.1 standard in order to get 10 GBPS (up to) read and write speed. On my Orico external NVME I am getting Read speeds of about 980 MBPS and 800 MBPS, pretty solid if you ask me, not ask fast as an internal NVME, but more than adequate for gaming, basic video editing , blah blah blah. 2) This is IMPORTANT, this drive has its own USB Host controller, and in my experience it DID not really play nice with an external Encrypted SSD, it could be because the Windows 11 version I attached the drive to wasnt PRO, but I had been using this drive on a Windows 10 Pro Computer, anyways when the drive would go to sleep, there was a problem unlocking the drive, and I had to re-format the drive and lost (mostly downloaded) games that I had to re-download . So this is something to note if you plan to use this external hub with Encrypted Drives I would say stick to PRO versions of Windows ( if you are using Windows, I don't know if this hub is supported with Ubuntu at 3.2 speed, but also works with MAC). 3) YES HEAT is a factor, you gotta remember the new USB 3.2 gen standard is not your Grandaddy's old USB 2.0 Flash Drives or Hard Drive, they will get HOT, and they probably are meant for constantly writing large backup files to, this HUB does get slgithly HOT as well, but because it is aluminum I think it dissipates the heat okay. If you keep this points in mind I would rate this drive a definite buy, especially if your laptop has a limited number of USB C, the USB C included 10GBPS pass-through port does work and seems to do what it advertises.Update 1/18/22: I had a similar write disk corruption problem when trying to download a 150 GB game file from Steam, I had to reformat the drive I was downloading to and had to attach it to my laptop's other USB 3.0 port to download, I think this may be because the built in hub host controller may not handle (writing) very large (greater than 10 or 20 GB) files on SSD without overheating the drive, it has been great to use once I actually downloaded the game and ran it off of this hub, but if I was using data that I was more concerned about not being able to recover (recorded video or music) I would be more careful about using this hub to write to disk for large files, reading seems to be fine at 10GBps usb 3.2. Just my opinion.

chained~
i have this chained w another type-c hub and it works just fine, no complaints. it's even light enough to velcro to the underside of my desk and it stays out of sight. the ports all work on the item i received and they are securely plugged. basic hub w no caveats.

Ok but not awesome...
Does what it's supposed to. Quality is good but not awesome. The worst thing is the USB cord is too short, it makes it hard to tucket it behind the laptop which creates a ratnest of cords.

It doesn't stay connected to the computer... UPDATE: but the seller worked with me.
It doesn't stay connected to the computer. I can plug things into it, but the connector keeps coming loose, or something, and so all my drives attached to it are recognized by the computer one minute, and aren't the next. Was too late to return it though, so I'm stuck with it. Not impressed at all.I was contacted by the seller, and they were generous in giving me a full rebate of the product. I thought it was too late, but they initiated contact, and I am pleased with the resolution. Still would have liked it to work though.

Worth the money
This hub does well. I've not noticed any slow downs and power interruptions don't seem to effect its performance.

Good hub. Works great for me
I use this for my sensors in VR. To have both sensors hooked through this through its USB-C has been useful in opening up additional ports on my system. The USB-C wire coming off of it is relatively short, but it certainly doesn't try to hide that in pictures or information.Overall, good price point, solid product. Works fantastic for my needs.

The cable is way too short, otherwise a very solid USB hub.
Would've given 5 stars if it had a longer USB C cable. It's just way too short. I have it connected to my laptop's Thunderbolt 4 port and since it's a high-end, high-powered gaming laptop, I have it sitting on a laptop cooler. Well the back end of the laptop is raised up a few inches to help with ventilation (it keeps it cooler). So therefore, when I plugged this HUB in, the cord is too short and so it hangs in the air behind it, it isn't long enough to sit it on the desk behind. So I don't like the idea of a device hanging from a cable off the back of the laptop. That can't be good for my Thunderbolt 4 port... At least this HUB is pretty light, but still not ideal.Great hub in all other regards; it's working as advertised and as intended. I'd recommend only to those who have a port on the side of your laptop, not the back and certainly wouldn't recommend if you need the back of your laptop to be raised up.

Works as advertised (update)
It works as advertised. No issues.Update: I've finally used it with all 4 ports occupied: a mouse dock, a keyboard, an external HDD and a ring light. The ring light won't turn on. Even after unplugging the HDD, the ring light still turns on and off randomly. This has some power delivery issues if I can't get all 4 ports to work when occupied, or even 3 ports.
