Q: Does it charge without being plugged in?

No, gotta plug it in. I bought to have at the ready for travel without disturbing at-home unit that came with the hearing aids.

Q: Can I charge my vive hearing amplifiers on 220 without a converter

This charger receives power via a USB Type C connector, so if you have a USB charger that plugs safely into 220 V AC it should work fine. Otherwise you would still need a converter for the USB charger to plug into. I don't know what "vive" is, and I don't know if this hearing aid charger will work with that.

Q: Does this compact charger work with the newest phonak paradise p-90 hearing aids and is the transformer compatible with 110 and 220 volts?

The charger is USB, the a/c plug-in transformer says 100-240v. My hearing aids are Phonak Model M90R, and all work well together.
