Too Hot to Handle

Everything I expected from Tessa. â€ïž
4âïž 4đ¶This book was everything I expected from a Tessa Bailey book. Lovable characters and spicy scenes.Rita puts on a tough front but she has some pretty crippling insecurities. She feels she will never live up to her motherâs legacy and let her down even before the restaurant burned. But with Jasperâs help she starts facing her insecurities and realizes she hasnât actually failed.Jasper has his own insecurities. For a long time he was all about partying, booze, and women. But after a wake up call two years ago he has sworn off women and wants to become someone he and his family can be proud of.The chemistry between the two was insane. It was only heightened by Jasperâs determination to not sleep with Rita because he really wanted to be seen as more than just a good time. So things were pretty intense by the time they gave in.My biggest gripe about this book was just how insta love it was. This all took place over three or four days. But it was acknowledged in the book so it didnât end up bothering me as much as it could have.

I am obsessed with Tessa books
Book: Too hot to HandleAuthor: @tessabaileyisanauthorđđđđâYou ruined the sky for me today, Rita,â he said gruffly. âItâs flat-out mediocre without you up against it. I reckon it always will be now.ââIt's so good because I love you Rita. It's good because you love me back. No matter the time it took. When it's right, it's right.âđThe last year of Rita Clarksonâs life has been a rough one. On top of her motherâs death, there was the infamous âknifingâ incident brought on by a fallen soufflĂ© and witnessed by millions via both television and YouTube. Then the fire that burned her aforementioned motherâs restaurant to the ground the same night Rita took over head chef duty. Top that with a strained to non-existent relationship with her three siblings and you have the recipe for a craptacular year, so they decided to go on a road trip to New York so they can put back together their lives and maybe just maybe find themselves again đđi think at this point is clear for everyone that im obsessed with @tessabaileyisanauthor books right? đđđ If you didnât know⊠Now you doâŠRita didnât know what to do with her live anymore, she didnât know who she was or how to move onâŠJasper was trying to clear his image from bad boy to a business man! Someone that you can trust and respect⊠and maybe want in your life for more than one nightâŠThe part that I love the most about this book was that no only Rita found herself but Jasper also, both of them had some many scars and wounds to heal from their past, they both wanted to prove themselves and their families that they were more than what ppl assumedâŠThe đ¶đ¶đ¶đ¶đ¶đ¶đ¶đ¶ was everything! It never disappoint!! Overall I love the family dinamic and I have so many questions regarding the other 3 siblings but I guess Iâll have to read the other books for thatâŠ#toohottohandle #tessabailey #obssesed #booksarelife #booksareessential #booksaremagic #booksarelove #booksarecool #read #bookgram #bookstack #bookpicture #bookphotography

The road home...
*Series Premise - It all started with their Mom's liquor induced last wish before she passed that they also experience one of the highlights of her life, well that was what she told them at least. *I have to say, their Mom, Miriam, sounds like she was a fun lady.* So now these siblings, Belmont, Rita, Aaron, and Peggy, are off to New York, rather reluctantly at first, to make that request a reality, albeit with stipulations on when it starts, a certain stopping point, and a plus one for the trip.* This book focuses on Rita's personal journey.Belmont, the oldest, has been a loner emotionally speaking since a childhood accident, and his salvage business seems to be the perfect job for his laid-back self. Rita, a chef like their Mom, is now watching her dreams literally go up in flames. Aaron, the quintessential politician, likes to make an entrance and flash that attention getting smile. Then there's Peggy, the youngest, who knows how to get what she wants, just not how to keep it or be happy with it. As evidenced by her collection of engagement rings, which is up to four now. I have to admit, I know it shouldn't be the case, but I fell a little in love with Peggy due to two lines from her..."Mom probably would have wanted me to talk to those firefighters, though. Am I right?" Her joy for life needs to be contagious.Rita is experiencing a crap moment after another crap moment. Not only is she still grieving the loss of her Mom, but she also recently lost on a reality cooking show, and the outcome of that will forever live in infamy thanks to YouTube, a contest that she should've won, and now she's watching her Mom's restaurant burn to the ground. *Did she break a mirror and not know it? Walk under a ladder? Things have to get better soon, right?* Well, not so much, considering they have car trouble soon after starting their journey.Jasper is enjoying a ride on his Harley when he spots the gang of obvious city people having car trouble. He also can't help but notice Rita, whom he's nicknamed She-Devil, due to the fire spewing looks she's throwing at Aaron. The only way out of this is for Rita to hitch a ride with Jasper back to the garage to get a tow truck out. *Jasper has never been more thankful for the lack of cell reception.*As they spend more time together, with a little conspiracy type help going on, their immediate attraction becomes so much more and neither are sure what that means. For Jasper, he knows Rita sees him, the man he is underneath the facade, and he revels in it. For Rita, Jasper slowly takes down her defensive wall brick by brick, letting her know she can show her vulnerability, that he's got her. What will happen between these two strangers who feel an unexplainable connection to each other? Will he and Rita go their separate ways? Will he join the group on their road trip? Or will Rita realize that she's finally found her home, the place where she belongs, where she needs to be? Will they see each other for who they truly are or want to be? Or for the person everyone else, and their pasts, have known them to be?One-click now and find out. This is the beginning of a new series and it's off to a great start. You can't help but relate to, and fall in love with, these siblings as they try to become the family they never knew they could be. I am also stating for the record that I call dibs on Belmont. I fell for him within seconds of meeting him and he's mine. I believe his story will be the last one, because Tessa loves to torture us, the little Belmont tease LOL, and the wait just might drive me insane. But I am going to love the journey to insanity while I get more peeks of him during each subsequent book.On a side note, and this is purely a personal preference and in no way diminishes my love for this author, while Jasper is a reformed bad boy (read as having a vast array of hands, and more, experience) and I applaud his dedication to wanting to be more and taking the steps necessary to do that a couple years prior to meeting Rita, I would've preferred that wasn't his history at all. In my head, logically speaking, I know that these characters aren't real, but in my heart, because all true bookworms become emotionally attached to the characters, I can't help but put myself in Rita's shoes and how I would feel being continually confronted by the love of my life's past. Yes, everyone has one and I get that, but his is on a much higher scale and I'd think it'd be hard to see that history, essentially in your face, every day knowing there's personal experience there and yeah, women can be catty, we all know this is true, so I can also imagine some trying to hurt her by bringing it up. Again, this is just me and is something I struggle with in any book that has a situation like this.**I received a copy of this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

Breathtaking !!!
Its hard to find the words as I'm still filled with so much emotion after reading this book! I'm a huge fan of Tessa Baileys books and am so very happy with this new series. Honestly this author really has the talent to write an excellent romance it almost makes reading any other romance book feel mediocre and superficial in comparison. It is truly going to be torture waiting for Aarons story I fear no other book can keep me appeased till then đ© this is yet another beautiful, filled with feeling, amazing love story OMG it honestly fills me with so much emotion, love happiness, angst, laughter, tears, the happy and sad ones and much more!!!. I'm in love with all the characters already, desperate for their story to come. Please read this book you will not be disappointed!!!!

A great start to a new series
I love the premise of this new series. The book starts off with a journal entry from the four Clarkson siblings mother (she sounds like she was a crazy mum to have growing up), but in it she explains that her dying wish is that her four (extremely different and somewhat distant) children all go and leap into the Hudson River in NYC on New Year's Day. Sounds crazy, yes. But spontaneity is what the Clarksonâs are known for and maybe, just maybe, they will find happiness of their own on the way. This particular story starts out with the oldest daughter, Rita. Her mother was a famous chef (even had her own Food Network). Rita has spent her life trying to live up to her mother's and the world's expectations for her. But having just flamed out on her own show spectacularly, she has now just burned down her mother's legacy...her restaurant that she left to Rita. The bad thing...Rita is nothing but relieved that the restaurant is gone. But when all her siblings show up to watch the restaurant go to ashes, she tells them of their mum's last wish that she discovered in her journal at the restaurant. They start together reluctantly on a road trip - however don't get far as they break down in a small town called Hurley. This is when the fun starts and we learn Rita's story. Rita Clarkson was emotionally closed off to the point that it was hard to open her heart to anybody else; even her siblings. Rita has to face her faults and accept that she canât be a perfect reflection of her mother. Jasper is their saviour finding them stranded on the side of the road and riding Rita in to get help. Unfortunately he is also the âtown slutâ. In the small town of Hurley there is not much to do. He built up his reputation without intention and now he realises that he doesnât know who he really is anymore. He is tired of being laughed at nor having anyoneâs respect. He sees Rita as someone who could finally show him he is worth something to himself and to the town he loves. He is making a big change to his life and he wants Rita to be a part of it, only if he could change her mind. There was something fabulously real about this read. I particularly like how the siblings really didn't know or like each other. I liked that the characters were flawed and there wasn't an insta-fix to everything, even if the romance took off full throttle. I am looking forward to more from this talented author and have already pre-bought the next book in the series.

If you like your "hero" to have a heart of gold and a dirty, dirty mouth, this is the book for you. Tessa never disappoints.
