Inexpensive but effective for lighter-weight items
I had one of the portable lights with a tripod. When the light got knocked over it broke most of the plastic mounting mechanism. Luckily, I had a spare phone camera mount that worked perfectly for the light, but I had no way to adjust the angle. I bought this little camera head and it worked well for my application. It is very inexpensive and lightweight but has a quality feel to it. It fits a standard 1/4" mounting bolt. It uses pressure screws to hold the head at the desired angle. The head can be rotated to any angle, and tilted as desired to nearly 180 degrees. It works well with small lights, mobile phones, and small cameras but I wouldn't recommend it for heavier cameras. It includes a hot-shoe mount for an external microphone but I have no use for that since I am not using it with a camera. The pressure screws seem to hold the head securely in the desired position. However, I wouldn't recommend it for serious photography.

Adjustability and Range of Motion: The ball head allows for a full 360-degree panoramic rotation, making it easy to achieve the right angle. The tilt adjustment is smooth and holds the camera securely in place once you’ve set the desired position. It’s especially helpful for quick adjustments in the field, allowing me to switch from landscape to portrait seamlessly. Dual Hot Shoe Mounts: The dual hot shoe mounts are a fantastic feature. They add so much versatility, allowing me to attach accessories like a microphone or LED light along with my camera. This setup is perfect for content creators or vloggers who need a lightweight, multi-accessory mount for an all-in-one rig. Smooth as Butter, Strong as Steel
The ULANZI H28 is the tiny but mighty sidekick I never knew I needed. It’s basically the Swiss Army knife of tripod heads—except instead of opening wine bottles, it holds my camera, mic, AND light without breaking a sweat. The panoramic swivel is buttery smooth, like spreading Nutella on warm toast. Lock it in place, and it stays solid—no wobble, no “oops, my camera’s slowly drooping mid-shot.” The dual hot shoe mount is genius: one minute I’m running a camera + light setup, the next it’s mic + phone. I felt like I was building a mini Transformer every time I switched it up. Despite its small size, this little ball head is rock-solid. I threw it on a tripod, a light stand, and even on top of my desk rig, and it handled it all like a champ. And let’s be honest—there’s something satisfying about gear that makes you feel like a pro filmmaker, even if you’re just filming your cat for TikTok. In short: compact, versatile, and tougher than it looks. If Batman had a tripod head in his utility belt, I’m pretty sure it would be the ULANZI H28.

Smaller, Lighter Weight Ball Head
I've been a hobbyist photographer for decades and was looking for a smaller ball head that I could use to better pair my action cameras with my collection of DSLR cameras for certain tasks. This Ulanzi product appears generally well-made and useful. It's essentially just a scaled down version of larger ball heads and appears to be of relatively good quality. Components of the product are made mostly of metal, although there are a few plastic parts: the thumb adjuster for tension against the adjustable ball, and the circular base that one's action camera/adapter will fit flush against located above the ball & shaft as examples. The only con I would share is that in my opinion the ball head would be a higher quality product if stainless steel had been used for the ball mechanism itself; instead, the manufacturer chose to use painted (I suspect some amount of heat-treated) metal, which does not have as smooth a surface as stainless might provide. As a result, the ball does not move as freely within its retaining cup/base as I would prefer. There's an adjustable 360 degree locking gauge attached to the base of the ball head for establishing reference points should some users find this helpful. Lastly, there is a cold shoe adapter included, which I find useful for mounting the ball head to the hot shoe of my DSLR cameras; this gives me the option of doing video & some measure of still photography work simultaneously. I do recommend this economical Ulanzi product, but with the understanding that I would not rate it as equivalent to less economical similar accessories that are made with higher quality materials. It does get the job done!

Versatile and Strong – Perfect for In-Car Camera Rigs
I’ve been using this mini ball head for rigging cameras at drift events I livestream, and it’s been a rock-solid piece of gear. It’s compact but surprisingly sturdy—easily holding action cameras and accessories without slipping, even with the vibration and movement you get in a drift car. The dual hot shoe mount is a big plus, letting me attach extra gear like lights or microphones when needed. The panoramic adjustment makes it easy to dial in the perfect angle quickly, which is a lifesaver when setting up in tight spaces. For the size and price, this little mount punches way above its weight. If you’re looking for a reliable way to rig cameras or accessories for automotive shoots—or really any creative setup—this is an excellent choice.

Great for DIY small projector mounting
This is the one I was looking for. After searching for way too many ball head connectors for my small projector to DIY it to another piece, this one was the most compatible and stable. It has full range of motion and let me tweak to fit perfectly onto any mount. 1/4 inch thread on both sides.
