Perfect for BMW gas and diesel engine. I own f30 328i, f15 35d and e85 m54. I bought this scanner mainly for x5 35d.

As an ASE certified technician with 27 years of experience and many many scan tools I can easily say this is an impressive tool. The features of this tool is really where it stands out. The resets and configuration function of this tool make this really worth the money. The crp919e will reset oil life percentage, battery renewals, diesel particulate filters, sunroofs, coding for injectors, window resets, abs brake bleeding, steering angle resets, and those are just a few of the capabilities. In addition to that it is still a full featured scan tool that will read and erase codes read the data stream perform actuation tests so that you can test individual components quickly. It will also perform certain levels of PMI (programmable module installation) which is where the tool will get the information from the old module and write that information on to the new module. Big name brand scan tools that cost thousands of dollars will not complete all of the things that this tool will do. The hardware is also impressive for this tool. It is a corded tool which means you will not be losing any Bluetooth dongles and it will be charging while you are using it. The 7-in screen displays text large enough to easily be read and the graphing is very good. The case on the tool has rubber bumpers so that it can survive being dropped from a reasonable height. The software on the tool is also really well done. The main menu is organized really well and finding information is simple. After a vehicle is scanned you can produce a report and email it to yourself or someone else and it looks very professional. The menus on the tool are labeled properly and if you click on something many times it will have a dialog box that details what that test does and asks you if you want to proceed especially if doing so could cause a problem if done wrong. It's easy to recommend this tool because it has a great feature set as well as good hardware.

Once I received I started it up the update worked, I connected it to my vehicles, and it found two out of two with the auto scan. It found fault code P0420 (the vehicle's catalytic converter on Bank 1 is not working efficiently). I wasn't aware of so I need to look at that, but it works fine. I like the fact that if it auto-detects the vehicles, you can scan and then send yourself a result sheet via email, good to have to then look up things to figure out what has happened. The scanner is in a sturdy shell/case that is actually easy to work with in your hands, and the touchscreen, including the keypad that comes up, is very user-friendly. The keypad is way better than the one on my phone. So far, I've used it to manually turn on an AC compressor so it'll take a charge on my Honda Accord. It charges itself via a USB cable that comes with it, which you can connect to your computer or a phone charger, but it also charges when connected to the car by the OBD2 connector. There are a few drawbacks / a lack of options. There is NO Bluetooth connectivity for this model, which could be very useful when working under the vehicle. 2nd, I wish the lead that connects to OBD2 would be 10 feet, which would make use of this scanner much easier whenever I work under the vehicle. Overall, this is quite the handy tool to have for my DIY tasks. Its intuitive features allow me to perform many tasks that shops and dealerships would charge for, saving big $$$ in the long run. I will update this review after a few months of use, if anything changes.

The Launch X431 CRP919E was purchased so I could make code changes to my car. So far I have successfully customized the way my convertible top opens and closed, turned on backlighting for the cluster gauges, adjusted the number of times the turn signal flashes, and enabled teardrop for my wipers. I'm following instructions that I found on a Forum. The CPR919E has worked flawlessly and I plan to make additional modifications to my car and perform annual maintenance. I expect the Launch CPR919E will be a valuable tool going forward. If you're a novice like me, just make sure you find trusted sources to educate you on how to use the CPR919E as you can do serious damage to your car if you're not careful. A note about the Seller (Kingbolen): I tried to redeem a Promotion "Receive 1 GIFT LAUNCH OBDII Extension Cable free when you purchase of a LAUNCH CRP919E offered by Kingbolen” but I couldn’t add it to my cart. This is not your basic code reader—this thing is legit. It does full system diagnostics, not just check engine lights. You can read and clear codes, run active tests, and even do bidirectional controls, which is huge if you like actually fixing your own car instead of guessing. The screen is nice and responsive, and the layout is pretty easy to figure out once you get into it. It runs on Android, so it feels more like using a small tablet than a clunky tool. It supports a ton of vehicles and systems, plus all those reset functions (oil, EPB, TPMS, etc.), which makes it super versatile. Downside, this is not beginner-level. If you don’t know what you’re looking at, it can feel overwhelming fast. Also, updates and full features can depend on subscriptions after a while, so keep that in mind. Bottom line: Powerful, professional-level scanner with real diagnostic capability, but best for someone who actually knows their way around cars or is willing to learn.

Battery bad out of box wont hold a charge every day after charging it it still dies even when powered off, decent scanner especially for the price and features and I will exchange instead of refund after I just got faster at navigating the darn thing but if you work on cars youll know even brand new parts tools and any electronics can be faulty even when purchased when new im leaving a 1 star not because it failed because that's what the warranty is for and it does feel like a solid tool! But im leaving a 1 star review because now I have to make an extra trip to return it.... but the biggest problem is that they wont process the return until they receive the old one and then ship the new one so now I have to wait realistically 2 weeks give or take to get a new scanner....not the way I planned starting off with my new scanner so maybe I should just guess whats wrong with my customers cars or dont get into any diagnostics until I get my new scanner I have basic cheap readers but not with all the controls this has and honestly as im writing this review im thinking just a refund dont send another unit I will tey out the autel ive never heard anyone complain on those and this isn't first time ive seen or heard negative on this brand

Es un muy bien scanner, asta ahorita a entrado en todos los vehículos que he tenido, es de fácil interacción y tiene muy juegos materiales, las funciones están muy completas, puedes reprovramar cuerpos, hacer frenos eléctricos traseros, te da lecturas en vivo, tiene todo lo que se necita y es muy práctico, en mi opinión me gusta que sea de cable porque al conectarlo al vehículo también se carga solo y eso ayuda porque no tienes que andar preocupado por la pila que trae el diapositibo

Really not so impressed actually but it works.

Soy aficionado a la mecánica automotriz. Tener un escáner Launch de este tipo incrementa tus posibilidades de exito en el diagnóstico de fallas en tu vehículo. Estoy muy satisfecho. Lo ocupé en un Chevrolet, Aveo 2012 ETEC II. Lo recomi ndo ampliamente. Te recomiendo explotar al maximo sus características.
