Higher Level Physics for the IB Diploma

pretty good
As a IB Diploma student, i found this book very resourceful. The explanations are brief but concise. If, in fact, you do not think so, then i suggest to look in textbooks by called "giancolli" or "IB Physics" by toskos

Guaranteed IB Physics Success.
I consider myself an expert on IB Physics textbooks. I have tried studying from various kinds, including the Study Guide put out by Oxford and K.A. Tsokos' "Physics for the IB Diploma" (Cambridge). In my opinion, this is the only book worth getting. For any IB course, it is crucial that the material is laid out in a clear and concise fashion. Otherwise, we wouldn't be able to get through the syllabus and remember everything. Each chapter states the syllabus "objectives" and systematically goes through everything you need to know. There is no fluff or extra info. That being said, it is fun to read and there are also many example problems throughout (similar to those on the IB exam) with answers at the back. It's perfect for HL students because the HL material is integrated into each chapter and the information is well organized. I can't think of any major way this book could be improved. The only reason I am writing this review is because I studied for my exam with this textbook alone and achieved a 7. I credit much of it to this great book.

Ce livre était indiqué comment en état "bien". Cependant il est vieux, on a écrit dedans et on a barré des choses dedans.Ceci n'est pas un état "bien".

Amazing book!!
I myself am an IB student at present. Believe me it is one of the best books available. The best part about Pearson Physics is that it compresses "EVERYTHING" in just 600 pages. Its light, compact yet amazingly profound in concepts and their explanations. If you want less "kgs" in your bag yet want to succeed in your IB physics I highly recommend this book.

I am a Senior Citizen who qualified as an Engineer way back in the 1960's. I have recently researched the current 'A' level science subjects with a view to being able to advise my young grand children taking science subjects at this level with up to date curriculum topics. I obtained a copy of this book quite recently, and I give this short recommendation. This book I found was excellent; being set at the right level, it is well illustrated and teaches the main topics with sufficient theorectical detail without being to over the top; very suitable for unsupported home study. It should be quite suitable for anyone looking for an introduction to the more difficult work a student will meet in the first year at University. Highly recommended.

A master text for the keen student of physics
Extremely well written and illustrated physics book, which also covers advanced topics like cosmology, relativity, high energy particle physics and topics such as semiconductor physics that are often left until University undergraduate level, this makes the book very extensive and yet it still covers mundane matters such as Newton's laws of motion and Optics/lenses. The chapter on relativity is a superbly well written with great diagrams, it was written in a very lucid and clear manner and was very rewarding to study and learn from, I don't think I have encountered such a great explanation of this somewhat daunting theory before. I think this accolade could be awarded to all the other chapters as well, the book has been written for students aged 16-19 so that they can focus on learning and understanding Physics as efficiently and as painlessly as possible.I would say this is the "go-to" book for all UK students of physics before the University level.
