I needed fold-down racks because I keep my car in a garage and these fit the bill without costing an arm and a leg. Easy to mount and push button control to fold flat or up into a number of positions. Plenty strong for my needs. Follow the instructions and re-tighten the racks periodically as the plastic hand nuts that tighten onto the cross-bars need snugging up from time to time.

I really like these, have had them for about 6 months. You could take them on and off of your vehicle if you wanted. For the lazy like me, you can also leave them on. They have survived a few snow storms and hail and rain with no issue.Highly recommend checking the tightness pre/post travel, they do loosen up a bit (nothing major). For the price, can't beat them.

These are great racks that hold the kayak safely with ample support. Easy to install on your roof rack bars (not included) and are adjustable throughout a a wide range. The best part is you can fold them flat when not in use to get the car in a garage with door clearance of about 4". Great buy!

Not sure why such a high rating. Yes, the mechanics seem to work OK and I would imagine it would fit any bars (although those with round bars don't seem the like the fit). My low rating is due to the black paint on the bars will come off onto your kayak if the kayak rubs against the bar. It is virtually impossible to load a kayak onto these bars without some part of the kayak touching a bar. I've loaded a fiberglass and a plastic kayak onto these racks and both have black streaks from where the boats touched the metal part of the racks. I believe I have discovered a way to prevent the black marks, wrap the metal bars with bicycle handle bar tape. That adds $11 per bar, not per set, per bar!

I love that they fold down, on and off very easily no tools needed. Very solid feel and stable with 12 ft. perception kayak. Perfect balance of function for value. Highly recommend.

A nicely made, padded carrier with the ability to fold down, and the price was very reasonable. However, in trying to place these on our car's crossbars, I found they do not fit well because our crossbars are wider than these carriers are designed for. There is a notch on the carrier undersides that looks like it is made only to fit a crossbar not more than 1.5" wide, but our GMC Terrain's standard crossbars are 2.5" wide. I will have to place some kind of non-slip rubber pads on the underside of each carrier before tightening them down, and I think that should prevent any possibility of the carriers of slipping when my kayak is mounted. If you wish to order these, be sure to check the width of your crossbars first.

This is a great product for transporting a kayak. Was simple to install and worked well for a three hour trip! We did add extra rope to tie it down due to distance, but no issues! I love that it folds down so you don’t need to remove the racks when not using!

These racks are very flimsy and do not support heavier kayaks.My kayak is around 46lbs and at anything more than 40mph, the kayak was bouncing around on them. Secondly, do not assume these are a "universal" fit. They only fit small cross bars, and are only truly designed for Vault Cargo's crossbars (which is not very clear in the listing). I don't recommend these for anything over a small, light kayak and for the price of these plus the cross bars, you can get a much better quality product.

Great bars, unfortunately didn’t fit my Thule wingbar setup. However company are great and offered great advice and made it really easy for me to return. Instant refund. Gutted they didn’t fit.
