For $40, I expected a lot lower quality but this rod and reel are really well made. Cnc spool that’s also deburred and a lightweight rod with CNC anodized hardware. Bearings are also pretty smooth. They didn’t even cheap out on the warning sticker.

I use for surf perch fishing on Oregon coast and it's great for that i got the one that's just shy of 12 feet. Just don't whip it out like a light saber or it'll get stuck.. I wish the handle was a bit longer for casting far but can't beat the price and so far the reel has held up and is still butter smooth, i like the eva knob a lot. The screws on the side are rusting but it's cheap and so far holding up to saltwater use. Im happy with it

Stating the cons first.. (6'1) Yes the rings do fall off with use albeit you can stick them back with no issues and as with any telescopic rod the segments can get stuck which can be a pain (i can see the largest sizes being less durable), however all in all this has been one of my most favorite the rods I've owned, portability is extremely comfortable, reel is flawlessly smooth (as well as good weight distribution), looks and feels amazing, telescoping handle function was absolutely necessary to have been built in. For the size I purchased, it is durable for how light the rod is. It will and has worked well for the average catch, however I don't believe the rod will sustain any monsters. Conclusion. All in all this is a good rod and all in all a great purchase. FOR ITS PRICE, absolutely EXCEPTIONAL more so given with it's warranty. The extra black reel however is a plastic junk, false advertising.. completely unnecessary but still happy with the rest!

I have bought at least a dozen travel/portable fishing poles over the years and they have all sucked. They either break easily or the response is so bad it would take a whale taking your line to feel the bite. This pole is different. I bought my first one a few years back on Black Friday because I had just broken my other one and this one was selling pretty cheap. I really didn't expect much for the price but when I got it I was impressed at the quality and materials. It is really well made and the response is really close to a one-piece pole. Which is crazy considering how small this pole collapses down to and how many sections it is. I easily fit it in my carry on luggage and have been around the world with it. And it is still holding up. I have now bought several of these as gifts. I would absolutely recommend this pole for anyone who travels a lot and likes to fish whenever and wherever they can.

Got this for a backpacking trip to a mountain lake. It’s been great. Small and portable, as expected. Nothing out of the normal or different from a regular rod, besides the portability. It’s been great and the customer service was great when I reached out to them after Amazon shipped it to me with no padding a the reel broke in shipping. They sent me a new reel for free which I received within a week. My only issue with it is small metal circles on the bottom of the spool that’s aren't necessary and result in the line occasionally hooking on it when you cast out, but it’s avoidable if you’re conscious of it and it’s not a big deal. Overall, pretty happy with it. I’ve also seen a few reviews about the guide rings coming off and have to say from my previous experience with a telescopic rod that it’s important to just be gentle when extending the rod. You don’t have to really tug it into place. Just gently extend it. If some too hard, you’re going to bust those guide rings loose on any telescopic rod. I did it as a kid with my first telescopic rod and that’s how I learned to be gentle with it. Be kind to it and you shouldn’t have any issues.

I was really excited to get the new reel and rod. The rod seems to be of good quality. The reel is beautiful and the reeling action is very smooth,when I was able to cast. It has an oddly shaped bailing wire that looks pretty cool but you can only flip the bailing open when the spool is in a certain position(and that changes every cast). This morning I took the new combo out to the lake. It was difficult to cast in general. I was using a lure and like to cast it with two or three inches of line between the lure and pole. I found that to be impossible. I have no idea why they would make a reel soooo user unfriendly. I wouldn't buy the reel again. It's very close to useless.

Wow...I honestly did not know what to expect but I am thoroughly surprised, the rod and reel looks spectacular, I can’t wait to get to Florida to try it out!!!, the reel is extremely smooth and the rod is full carbon fiber. I highly recommend so far I’ll give an update on how it holds up! Update: the rod did AMAZING, I caught bull reds, snook, mangrove snapper, and even hooked a few sharks and I’ve got to say for a travel rod it’s been amazing!. I’m still using it for pond hopping for different bass and it even works great for that, it’s been an all around multi-species setup. I’ve had no problem from bluegill all the way up to sharks!!!, with the right line haha. I couldn’t of been more shocked and have to say that they are making some great products!, I was able to get through the airports no problem with the rod in my bag I just had to tell them what it was and I had no issues, it was the perfect length. I highly suggest and hope you have the same experience as me, good luck!!!

The rod tip's guide is at a completely different angle from all the other guides. There's no notches or lines to ensure the guides are straight, and the reel seat opening is undersized, so it takes some wiggling to get other reels to fit. I expected MH action because that's pretty typical, but this rod is like an extra heavy action. once fully extended, it feels like a one piece, but the heavy action makes it feel like a cane pole or something. if you're fishing for catfish, carp, or small sharks, this may work well for you until the tip breaks off which seems very likely. As for the reel, I only used it a few times, but this reel is really smooth. I swapped out the giant reel knob because I didn't like it, but this thing performs very well. The spare spool is garbage and made of really poor plastic, but the anodized aluminum spool attached to it is really nice. I did take the reel apart and I don't think it'll hold up to saltwater duty and I seriously doubt it'll last longer than a year, but for the occasional angler, this thing is excellent. Also worth noting in the reel. The drag system is completely contained inside of the spool, so I wouldn't throw away that spare spool in case you need spare parts later on down the road.

This was a quick impulse buy before we headed out to the cottage and really just wanted extra gear for insurance and to have another hook in the water. To my surprise, this was a popular pole with my kids and our friends. So smooth even my wife (the real fisher in our family) was impressed. I personally thought this was better than her expensive Shimano set :p but what do I know. Love the portability and it looks and feels Pro. A great buy for sure.

I bought my boyfriend this rod as a present so when we travel it's easy to take with us and can handle the saltwater. We have used it in the Caribbean. I bought the longest rod. I had to do quite a bit of research before I bought this one because this is actually the second telescopic rod and I wanted to make sure I bought something good this time. The first one was another brand I had to return to Amazon because even though it stated it was for saltwater, it was not as the screws were rusting and the reel seized and this was only fishing very briefly twice in Dominican Republic. Well I decided to write this review because I do not remember back in 2019 reading any reviews of anyone actually using it in saltwater so wanted to let you know that we have in Cuba on a couple of trips and the reel works well. When we fish in the Caribbean, it is everyday. This is a great rod and reel combo for the price point. Enjoy!!!
