Useful solar power and recording to SD
The stand-out feature of this is probably the solar panel. It eliminates the need for the alternatives of mains power or battery charging. Whether it will charge sufficiently in the middle of winter to keep the camera going 24x7 remains to be seen. You can charge it with a micro-USB cable, if necessary, but then you have to question the benefit of the panel. Still, with any luck the panel will do its job all year.In other respects, the specs are fairly routine by today’s standards – 2K recording, intercom, spotlights, siren, and so on. The 360° capability is less common and certainly welcome though, as is colour night vision. Build quality seems good, as is image quality. The Anran app is better than some and makes the camera fairly easy to use remotely, including pan and tilt.Keep in mind that, as with all(?) battery cameras, there is no pre-recording. If something triggers the camera, recording starts a second or so later. Mains-powered cameras usually record constantly, so are able to show clips starting a few seconds before movement is triggered. That way, you don’t miss the beginning of the action. But of course mains power can be difficult to provide.A Cloud subscription is available but not required, since the camera can record to a built-in microSD card. You’ll need to supply your own card and I’d advise purchase of a ‘high endurance’ one, given the repeated over-writing. A tiny smear of synthetic ptfe grease on the terminals, e.g. Synco Super Lube, would be a good idea too.I haven’t needed support but it’s good to know the supplier is in the UK and that’s where support is based.I’d suggest going for a mains powered camera if you can get a mains cable to it. Otherwise, at the current £84.99 (after voucher applied), the camera seems good value, especially given the solar panel...assuming the panel proves adequate in winter.

Please make these cameras work with Smartlife and similar Apps!
Was £109.99 now £84.99… even better value! I love these solar powered battery cams.Pros:Rechargeable by solar or micro USBWell made itemGood quality cameraVery good picture qualityNight vision works wellMotion detection spot onSolid and sturdyEasy to setup360 degrees of rotationCons:You will probably need to bring the camera in once a week to keep the charge up. I’ll update this review in Winter.Won’t work with Smartlife App unless someone wants to correct me? Yet another App required!

Excellent solar camera
Video quality is amazing. It has an internal battery that will keep the camera working during the night and during cloudy days. You can recharge the camera using a usb cable in case the solar panel is not enough.

Brilliant!
Please be aware if you're ordering a micro sd card for this at the same time...the enclosed instructions says the sd card requirements are class 10 level...I chose a sandisk extreme which is also classed as U3 which is supposed to be fast enough for 4k video (which this isn't of course & probably overkill).Brilliant piece of kit!.....was wanting an outdoor security camera for a while but couldn't be bothered routing/drilling a hole for a hard wired one. This does away with that thanks to its solar panel. It can be recharged via an included micro usb cable too. & I'd suggest doing this first if it arrives 'dead' like mine did. Then you can download the app (made very easy with the option of just scanning a qr code)...set up & pair the camera with you router. (Again..very easy). Then you'll want to be holding the camera in various spots where you'd want to install it...at the same time testing the wifi signal strength via the app. Unless I bought a wifi signal booster...I couldn't install it where I wanted & had to opt for a position closer & with less obstruction to the router. This is not the fault of the camera unit...I'd have the same problem stood outside with a laptop etc.You WILL have to buy a micro sd card for recording purposes as one isn't included..which is a shame given you can buy cheap kids cameras etc with a micro sd card thrown in. I'd stick with a reputable make..ie..Sandisk/Samsung.The camera unit is solid & well built...there's certainly no cheapness about it...the picture is excellent! I initially had it charging on my living room floor & opened the app while at work.....I could see around my living room & could pan & tilt the camera via the app on my phone...the picture was monochrome in the darkness but clear....by the time the wife had gotten up for work & opened the curtains...everything was full colour & again the picture was crystal clear...it was a weird feeling looking around my empty living room while at work....happy to report I didn't catch the wife with the milkman. You could actually set this up indoors....you'd just have to permanently connect a long enough micro usb cable to a charger.Anyway...all good....certainly worth the price...4 out of five stars only because of the range limitations of wifi in general. But you're getting ease of installation.
