Great looking reel with smooth action but it is new. Hopefully it handles the saltwater well.

I haven't had a chance to actually use this but from what I am seeing it is very nice quality. VERY smooth operation. If they had made the side screw on cap (opposite of the handle) out of metal instead of plastic it would be much better. It feels weak and you will have to be very careful with it. One reviewer showed his broke. Even if they just made it of quality plastic that would work to. The handle it's is very nice. The reel feels much more expensive than what they cost.

Very impressed I read other reviews but everyone’s opinion is different. The reels feel great got 2 6000 models. Drag is solid the gears are solid just need to fish them. Just a great price point I mean I van staals, Penn, daiwa reels etc but this seems to be a good reel

The handle can be applied for left or right 👍 handed anglers. The drag holds well without slipping on heavier 🐟 dinners. The anti reverse switch doesn't hesitate. The finger bail works well, but if you're into modern, you may want a trigger release bail, (like a spoiled young man I know). Wish a second spool came with, and a slightly longer handle. Haven't used in salt water yet. Always, always rinse your gear in fresh water immediately after use in salt or brackish waters. 💦

Solid reel, loud drag

Held up to month in Florida’s keys.
Bought this for month long trip to the Florida keys for live baiting under balloon while bottom fishing and some light trolling for kings and Spanish mackerel. Hooked several sharks and barracuda and held up well. Fought one shark that I got up to my 18’6” boat twice (shark was easily half length of boat) for close to an hour chasing with boat. 35 lb braid finally popped but reel held up well. Purchased 5000 size. Smooth operation, comfortable ergonomics. Had rod on boat 20 out of 28 days and no worse for wear and salt exposure. I would usually take it out over the penn 5500 that I have had since 1989 as the large round handle was more comfortable.
