desertcart.com: Silence of the Jams (A Down South Cafรฉ Mystery): 9781101990803: Leeson, Gayle: Books Review: Really enjoying this new series!!!! - I really enjoyed the second book in the Down South Cafe Mysteries, this is a fun new series, with delightful characters, a nice new cafe, with great recipes, and an interesting mystery that will keep you guessing and had plenty of suspects!!!!! I really like Amy, she is a great character, I love her family that certainly adds lots of spice to the story and then of course there is the mystery!!!! How can Amy not get involved when the victim dies in her cafe, especially when everyone know that George was constantly badgering Amy to sell him the cafe so he can tear it down and start a project of his own?? With the help of family, friends, customers and her deputy boyfriend Ryan you know that Amy will stir up enough trouble to help find the killer!! Review: Wonderful Characters - I really enjoyed this second in the series. Amy is a strong likable character, I love the the strong bond of family and how they support each other. You are easily drawn in by this town and I would love to live there and hang out with these people. The mystery was good and kept me guessing and moved at a steady pace. I will continue on with this series. There is the added bonus of some great sounding recipes.

Good series.
I do like this series. The main character is a nice, kind, empathetic person. She believes the best of everyone until they have to practically smack her in the head to force her to think they might have evil intentions. She is a very good cook and baker who recently bought and renovated a run-down cafe with a less than stellar reputation for "good eats". She's building a reputation for the Down South Cafe as the place to go for quality Southern comfort food and fresh baked goods. Then someone dies after eating there. She's not a good suspect, but someone, more than likely a patron, killed her customer. She has a higher than usual urge to find out who the killer is. As I stated, I do like this series, but even though we know Amy has a very hard time seeing the bad in anyone, at times it feels like she has tunnel vision. She absolutely can't face anyone feeling bad even when they bend over backwards to be viciously unkind and/or uncaring to her face. She'll apologize to them even as they are telling her what a wimp she is. That's the biggest flaw I see. She can still be as sweet and kind as she always is without being stomped on. Otherwise, it's a good series and I will probably read more in the future.

Jams & Justice!!
Silence of the Jams has plenty of charming characters & a few quirky ones too! Amy Flowers is a talented cook/baker with an innate sense of curiosity. When someone dies in her cafe Amy takes it upon herself to find the killer. There are lots of suspicious characters for Amy to draw from on her search for justice. Add in a little romance with her new boyfriend police officer Ryan & you have a delicious cozy mystery.

Love This Series by Gayle Leeson
I love a good cozy mystery, and The Down South Cafe series delivers. I love the main character, Amy. She is not jaded or overly pushy like a lot of mystery book characters. It's easy to let yourself enjoy the story because the relationships between the characters seem natural and not contrived. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

I'm Enjoying This Series
Amy Flowers is busy running her Down South Cafe and trying to deal with all of her family issues. The Chamber of Commerce director George Lincoln pays a visit to the cafe and collapses while eating. Due to George's less than health life style, it looks like he died of a heart attack. The town soon learns that the manner of death was from poison. Amy needs to find the killer before people start blaming her and the cafe, after all it has only been a few weeks since she opened her dream cafe. This is a fun series full of endearing characters.

Another Jaw Dropping Visit to Winter Garden!
I had anxiously awaited the sequel to the Calamity Cafe. This book did not disappoint. I love the realistic setting and realistic characters. They feel like people that you know and a story that COULD happen in real life! Another jaw dropping final scene and a book that leaves you feeling satisfied. Can't wait for the next in the series!
