Well then.
I shouldn't be rating this item as it is for my cat. But he can't type very well, so I'll try my best to interpret his reaction. My cat seems to hate it. As soon as I got it he jumped on and started scratching the sh*t out of it and looking at me as if to say, "I'm pretending this is your face"...I didn't dare to put the catnip on it as that stuff makes a mess. But then I gave in and he hated it even more. Scratched the bageezus out of it.I will sleep with my door shut and my eyes open.

Much more than a scratch pad
I got this cat nip-laced scratch pad about an hour ago and my cat has been obsessed with it since the second I put it on the floor. My majestic beast has been turned into a tweaking nip-head; he is barrel rolling all over the thing like an alligator with a freshly-caught limpy gazelle. Although entertaining, I'm wondering if he will ever use it for the intended purpose: scratching. As of right now, I don't care because his pure joy relieves the guilt I have felt over holding this once-feral cat a prisoner in my "Temperature-controlled Home of Abundant Food" for the past four years. I thought he was happy, but this scratch pad proved me wrong; he was living a lie. THIS has given him happiness, the likes of which I have not seen from him before. The unadulterated euphoria he has right now will be tough to top and impossible to forget. (Maybe I'm the one who was living a lie?) Anyway, this scratch pad has put him into a trance and me into a fit existential angst. Win-win. (Four stars until he actually scratches on it)

Cuthbert approved.
My cat (Cuthbert) loves it! He seems to prefer cheaper scratchers, which is fine with me. I buy a few at once and replace them frequently. He likes to sleep on this one even though he has cat beds, people beds, dog beds, chairs, a couch, etc. He does what he wants. Now that I've written this positive review, he'll probably never go near the scratcher again. Because he's a cat.

KITTY LOVES THESE AND SO DO I!!!
Bought one of these and kitty loves it so much that I bought a 3-pack like 2 weeks later. Our kitty has SHARP claws and to try and prevent her from ruining our furniture I put one of these in various rooms around the house, by the bed, by the couch etc. She LOVES these and took to them right away. She even naps on them! The price is decent for the multi-pack and kitty is DESTROYING them, so I'm happy! I'll continue to buy this brand! Get the "wide" one or whatever, and yes, you can flip them over and keep using them!

Happy cat pretty scratcher
I bought this for the price after I realized my fluff really loves cardboard. It's a good size (I got the wide figuring she'd lay on it and there you go: all 12lbs of her) and it's really robust. Not bad to look at either (exactly why I avoided cardboard until this point). It's a perfect excuse for me to take yet another photo of her epic resting bitch face. Don't let her fool you though, she's happy. Happy😻

Order the larger one
I've ordered a cat scratcher similar to this here before and I thought this was the same size but it's SMALL. Plus it is so light it just moves across the floor. My cat can't possibly scratch on this, it's just too light and not substantial enough. I won't be ordering this again.UPDATE ON 4/14/19: The seller contacted me after I reviewed this and wanted to know if I’d like a refund or if she could send me the larger scratch pad. I received the larger pad and I will say it’s much better than the smaller one. If you’re thinking about ordering this I’d highly recommend the larger one unless you’re buying for a kitten. If I order again I will definitely order the larger one. I’m increasing the stars from 2 to 4 because the seller reached out to me which I appreciated.

YMMV
Three enthusiastic paws up from my cats. I bought this for an elderly cat that has started scratching horizontal instead of vertical. Instead all three cats got in a spat over who got to rub and roll on the cardboard scratcher. They all had a turn but none of them seem interested in scratching or clawing. The current winner is hugging it, purring loudly, and leaving a visible damp spot of happy cat drool. I'm not sure how long cardboard is going to stand up to this type of alternate use but right now I have happy kitties.

It is small, has no box and .....
Yuk what a desappointing cat scratcher. It is smaller than others I have purchased. The density is different. You can see through the cardboard and finally it doesn't have a box so all the scratching fall to the floor. I bought it because it was next day shipping and I was trying to up my order. Plus it looked pretty. Back to the larger scratcher that is also cheaper for me.I have had several very nice emails from the seller offering to refund my money. Additionally they said they were working on a new model which will be improved. Even offered to send it to me free when it is ready. They asked that I update my recommendation. So I can attest that they appear to have good customer service. If they improve the product I will update this review again. It would be nice if they put it into an attractive box. The cat scratcher I buy now is big and blue and ugly so I am open to change.

An item of adoration from the cats
When i got it out of the packaging I thought how cheap it was. Originally I thought it was almost carpet like material and imagined it to be quite heavy. This was not heavy at all and is actually cardboard like material. But it came with catnip so I thought I would put it down with the catnip on top and see them walk past yet another scratch post to my sofa. Nope. They both threw themselves all over It, and have not scratched anything else since! My black cat sits on it and sleeps, guarding it from the kitten. Absolute winner!

My little cat loves them!!
I have 2 cats so I bought 2 so in theory they would have 1 each - yes they're cats so we all know how that theory worked out - silly me! First off they went absolutely mad for the catnip especially the big cat (the black one called George) I couldn't get it open fast enough for him and ended up with 10 layers of skin missing & catnip everywhere!! Once I'd added the catnip, the cats did what cats do and loved the boards, rubbing themselves against & over them etc. George then decided they were both his & every time the little cat (black & white one called squirt) went near one of the boards he would bat him away. Once the catnip effect wore off, George completely ignored them! George however ignores everything other than dreamies and catnip so this was no surprise! Squirt on the other hand has made them his new home (he's asleep on one of them as I write this). He loves them, he spends his day laying or sitting on them and uses them to scratch - yay Squirt! He even remained laying on one of them while I hoovered instead of running away and hiding in one of the many scattered about tunnels like usual. He is rewarded with a dreamies treat when he scratches on them, much to George's annoyance, and has not scratched anything else since. George is still using the old futon as his scratch post and get annoyed with no dreamies treat for doing so - he will learn, eventually! He has started to sit on them and sometimes lie on them so he has started to accept them invading his domain. I have tried to get a photo of Squirt scratching them but as soon as I move to take the photo, he stops scratching! I will add that a day or 2 after getting them George decided it would be fun to upend a newly filled water bowl over one of them, I was concerned how this would affect them as they are cardboard but I popped it up out of their reach to allow it to dry & it is as robust as it was before its' fight with the water bowl. I found that excellent & it said a lot about the good quality of them. Whilst I am only getting a 50% success rate in terms of them being used for scratching at present, I'm still happy to give them 5 stars for everything because of how much Squirt loves them and George seems to be coming around to them & I think will soon start to use them other than for a sun lounger! The 4 photos with the hoover in view were taken today - Squirt still hasn't moved from that spot!

Saved our sofa
My maine coon loves this! Previously the stupid thing was scratching the sofa, and no amount of bad smells, disciplining or ushering to a sisel peg would stop her. We even tried expressing her claws and manually getting her to scratch the proper posts but to no avail. However within a single minute of putting this thing down though, she was scratching it and has not touched the sofa since.
