I've been a Penetrex user for quite a few years and swear by it. I got this new item with Capsaicin after researching but ended up having a problem after using the first day. I rubbed into hurting areas of arthritis and muscle pain, and it worked pretty well even though I didn't feel any skin warming. I washed my hands after applying but didn't stop to think that if you touch the skin where it's been applied it is on your hands again. Found out the hard way when I rubbed my eye a couple of times and felt instant burning. I had to use cold water in my eye extensively. Couldn't figure out what was causing it and when it happened a second time, I realized what was going on. Capsaicin is made from peppers and can cause reactions and of course burning eyes. I won't be using this item again even though it helps with pain. I'll stick with my usual Penetrex. No one ever knows if they're going to rub an eye or some other sensitive area, so I decided to send this warning.

I really like this product and in my 70's I've tried a lot of products. This one is by far the best I've use. I try to walk every day and I over did it one day. My legs and hips were screaming at me due to overwork and strain. I found his product and love it. It doesn't really get hot but just enough to calm that pain. I think I healed up quicker because of this product. I put it on and rub it into the skin really well. It doesn't leave a residue. I love this product.

Just did not work as advertised, at least not on me. Definitely not worth the money I spent.

First I should say that I have early onset severe osteoarthritis in my knees. A combination of an active childhood and adolescence followed by 2 decades of adulthood sitting at a desk 9-11 hours a day will get you there fast. So I’m willing to try anything for relief! Penetrex Arthritis Pain Relief Cream is gradual, but has provided amazing relief for my knees. I would suggest starting with a very light layer on the area you wish to treat and wait a half hour or so before adding more to test the strength vs your sensitivity to it. I only had to use a very small amount for it to work. It lasts about 12 hours for me. It is activated by motion, so a lap around your house or a gentle massage should do the trick. ALWAYS wash your hands afterward and again if you touch the treated area. This gives the same reaction as hot peppers or hot sauce: if you get it on your hands and touch your eyes, it’s going to burn, so stay vigilant. The price is just okay, but when you consider that you only need a pea size amount for about a 6 inch area, it is well worth the cost. Five stars, two thumbs up.
