Poor shipping, great product
Ordered two of these, first one arrived as just an empty package, no hitch inside, just an empty package. Second arrived today and the hitch wasn’t in the package but loose inside the shipping box. Not sure what’s going on with this company on shipping but it’s awful. Product is a great hitch and recommend to all.

Quick change
I was so tired of changing the hitch ball from one size to another to match the trailer I was towing, no matter which trailer I needed it seemed like I had the wrong size ball. Now I can change the size of the ball in a matter of seconds. I now have one of these quick change balls on each of my tow vehicles.

Works How Hitch Ball Should!
I really like this product and have not had any issues with it working as intended. Very easy to use and switch between different balls. I have two trailers, one 1 7/8" coupler and the other a 2" coupler. Makes it very easy to switch hooking up the different trailer and not having to carry an extra hitch bar and ball. I like not having the bulk of a dual or tri-ball hitch bar setting on my receiver. I am towing ATV and Snowmobile trailers so not a huge weight load, but they have worked perfectly for me. I would recommend this ball combination and would purchase this again if needed.

Exactly what I need.
I received this in the mail.Installation:To install, I attached the ball mount (the thing the ball is going into) to the receiver (thing attached to the car). That way, I didn't need to put the ball mount in a vice. You can even put it on upside down, if you'd rather have the nut on top for the installation. Following that, I put the hitch ball (w/o a ball installed) into the ball mount. I ran the lock washer and nut up to the top by hand, then put a drop of "locktight" on the threads, then tightened it using an adjustable wrench to hold the stem from the top and a crescent wrench to tighten the nut.Uses:This product is perfect for my uses. I have a Corolla, with a harbor freight folding trailer. It uses a 1 7/8" ball. However, I rent moving trailers from Uhaul, which use 2" balls. So now I can change a ball size in a snap. With a 5000lb rating, it's 3000lb stronger than I need.To change a ball:At the top of the ball, there is a pin with a slot (flat head screw driver will fit it). Just push the slot down (I used a house key) and rotate with very little force. The pin will come up and the ball with be released from the mechanism. It's so easy. When you look at the pictures, you can see the pin I'm talking about. It's at the top and extended. Balls go on and off with ease. Once locked, the ball will not come off.Price:Very good price vs other interchangables.

2011 to 2015 and still holding up!
We ordered this ball system in 2011 and still love it here in 2015! We use it all the time to haul all kinds of trailers. It is easy to use and change the balls out. I am a small female with health issues which cause me to have less arm and hand strength, a lot of times. This system is easy for me to use as well as my husband. We like it so much that we are ordering another one for a second vehicle. The price is REAL good compared to others from sold at various other stores. With all the use this one has had it has held up VERY well! It has not rusted. It does show some wear but that is to be expected. We have not used any lubrication for changing the balls out and still have no problems.Pros:Well made, gets used weekly for several years and is still holding strong!Sturdy, we have had no issues when using this system.Last long, purchased from Amazon in 2011 and is still being used in 2015!Easy to use, even for somebody with less arm and had strength.Cons:We need another. With all this being said. I would defiantly recommend this to someone who hauls and needs different sized balls. We are ordering another one for our second vehicle and have No second thoughts about it! Good Luck!

Good product with limitations
so far so good!. I would not consider this appropriate for your primary towing ball. I used this for a quad that moves a multitude of trailers and other equiptment around our property and for that task, it is ideal. You can tell that it would indeed rust and seize up easily if exposed to the elements & towed with regularly. I coated mine with anti-seize compound before i even installed it. Good product I think one simply needs to understand it's limitations. If I was hauling relatively short distances and not in snow and ice i believe it would be perfectly acceptable. Lastly I saw another review that questioned the manufacturer, It is in fact made by the Reese company were all familiar with.

Best option for multiple balls
I've had one of these units for about 7 years and really like it. After many years the locking ball bearings did fall out so I was looking at getting a replacement shaft unit only. It turned out I could buy this for $13 less than the shaft alone. My original was an 8000# unit which has 4 locking ball bearings, the 5000# unit only has 2, but the balls fit and still lock in properly (there is a groove inside the ball that the locks ride in). In reality the 5000# rating is all I really need for my current trailers. My original unit was a 3 ball set which I use frequently to move various boat trailers at the lake so I already have the 2 5/16" for larger trailers.I have never had any complaints with these units and would recommend it without reservations. I prefer these to the 3 balls mounted on a straight hitch because my truck is high enough that I need a drop hitch.Lastly, I was also pleased with the fast shipping from the seller on this. It arrived in the original packaging via USPS within 3 business days of my order.
