Does what it says and prevent chlorine from being taken away from the sun. We use this every year at start up so I am not going through a million chlorine pucks during pool season. I add 1-2 in my chlorinator every week to 1 1/2 weeks and my levels are perfect. They do take a bit to dissolve fully but this stuff works great.

This is a good product, but be careful when using it, and only add a limited amount at a time. If you’re conducting a CYA test and the result is less than 10, don’t assume you’re at 0. Try adding 10 PPM at a time. It’s much easier to do this and stay safe than it is to exceed the limit and be forced to drain your pool. If you’re using chlorine pucks, be aware that these pucks also add CYA to your pool. If you notice your CYA levels rising too quickly, stop using pucks and granular shock, and start using highly concentrated chlorine bleach as an alternative, which is sometimes branded as liquid pool shock. Bleach is alkaline, which will cause your pH to start rising, but lowering your pH is a much easier task than lowering your CYA, which, again, requires draining your pool proportionally.

Definitely best price for product that works same as any product from store. Def recommend.

I copied and pasted this review since I couldn't comment on it. I read this review annd had to dump water like he stated. He saved my butt! I could not figure out why my pH would not rise when adding way way to much pH up than in years past. Know the total capacity of your pool, including water in the plumbing, and calculate and measure out the amount you need for no more than 30 ppm. Higher amounts will require you to use more chlorine to sanitize your pool, and concentrations approaching 100 ppm are generally considered unsanitary, as it would block chlorine from doing its job or you'd have to use so much chlorine that you'd have no effective way to measure and maintain pH. If it gets that high, you'll have to drain some water and refill the pool to dilute it.If you use trichlor tablets or dichlor powder to chlorinate your pool, you do not need to add this product at all despite what anyone or any app tells you.
