This is a great surveillance camera! I have had four for several years now. Using ‘Blue IRIS’ software on a stand alone surveillance PC, which also acts as a server to view my cams from my iphone. These cameras do not require a separate power source, they use ‘POE’ (Power Over Ethernet). Two cameras are up in trees in our front yard. Each having a 300 foot POE Ethernet line. There is NO remote Zoom or direction control. That’s fine with me. With this high resolution you can digitally zoom and catch auto license numbers if you need. They also work really well in the dark, depending on other lighting you can see up to 200 feet easily. Relying only on IR lighting it’s more like 70 feet. I researched these years ago, and recommend them still.

I order 3 of these cameras as part of a set of 16 from GW Security. The good news is that these are heavy and well made camera, excellent pictures during daylight and nighttime. The other great thing is that you can schedule technical service calls and their team is very helpful and try hard to help you solve the problem. The bad news is the instructions are poor or non-existent; even some more online videos would help out. For example there are no instructions on how to change the zoom or focus on these cameras. The second issue is that these cameras are not as weatherproof as advertised: is you have the bottom of the camera exposed, you need to use some silicon sealant or other method to make them fully waterproof.

I don't know why the image in the product description doesn't show a dome-style camera anymore. I purchased this and it was a tinted dome camera. It was fairly easy to install after running the ethernet cable from the DVR to the camera (which was the hardest part). You'll need the manual on your DVR to really get it working.The picture quality is on par with other cameras with similar specs.

Estas cámaras aunque no son muy económicas, valen lo que cuestan. Cada dolar pagado es muy recompensable con la EXCELENTE calidad de atención en el soporte técnico. Cuando tuve un conflicto para configurar 1 de ellas, llamé al soporte de GW Security y me atendieron en español muy amablemente. Le dieron seguimiento a mi solicitud hasta que logramos configurar lo que necesitaba. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

good quality picture, but at night time we have spots in the image --- presumably must be dust or something similar collected inside the dome. We checked to see things are well-sealed. it's annoying to have to have to climb up on a ladder to repeatedly clean.

Provides a very nice image. The case is very well built and very sturdy. I gave it 4 stars because I have purchased 6 cameras and have had 1 fail within 3 months.

This is my 6th gw security camera, they work great, nice sharp pictures, Great pictures recording at night with no external lighting, the ir lights give nice sharp image at night

For exterior application could not utilize the conduit fitting without cutting the cables, so I did not run conduit directly into the camera.
