Blue Train (Blue Note Tone Poet Series)[Stereo Complete Masters 2 CD]

If you are not going to spend the money on a first pressing (and that will run you some serious money), the Tone Poet pressing is a great alternative. Maybe not as engaging as the Music Matters release, it's far less expensive than a used copy of that pressing and it sounds great. The mono is definitely the version to get but the stereo is nice, especially on a tube system.

Just once ever does the world get a musician like John Coltrane and an album like this one. And just once, I would like to receive a CD from Amazon that doesn’t have a broken and splintered case. At least we’re keeping the replacement jewel case merchants in business.

I grinned like a little kid when the opening notes rang out. Bought both the stereo and mono but the stereo is by far the better listen. An iconic record and this is just a sublime and perfect reissue and pressing. Rejoice for you no longer have to pay insane prices for previous “audiophile” versions of this.

This sounds incredible. Very open soundstage, lots of room between the instruments, bright, loud, amazing. I did not find the bonus material to be all that interesting, save for hearing the speaking voices of the players, they really don’t add anything to the release. But the actual album itself is a 20 out of 10.

The CD release presents Blue Train in crisp and present sound. Wonderful, really. Hope they put the mono version on CD eventually, as I'd like to have that also..

One of my all-time favorite albums of any genre by any artist. Why is the album and track info for the second disc in a foreign language?

Absoloutley stunning release, I can't wait to hear it. I'm still setting my sound system up but couldn't hesitate to buy!

Kevin Gray has made this digital recording from the same feed used to cut his vinyl Tone Poet stereo release. The sound is wonderful - smooth but finely detailed, the right amount of bite and presence in the horns, and the bass is all there. The second disc of studio outtakes is more interesting than most. Highly recommended!

No voy a comentar nada de Blue Train de Coltrane ya que está todo dicho. Una obra maestra.Me parece más interesante hablar de formatos y precios. Con la vuelta de la moda del vinilo las compañías se aprovechan de la fibre de los compradores. Sin embargo el cd sigue siendo un excelente soporte, sobre todo cuando se cuidan las ediciones y los precios. ¡Una edición completa del Blue Train de John Coltrane por menos de 7€!Es además, una edición muy cuidada de Blue Note, remasterizada por Kevin Gray, con un cd de tomas alternativas y un sonido excelente. Aporta un libreto con mucha información sobre las sesiones y la historia del disco.La clave para comprar música física siempre será el precio. Me encantan los vinilos y compro bastantes, pero no pienso pagar más de 15/18€. Ni más de 10 por un CD. El streaming es gratis, así que las compañías y las tiendas como Amazon tienen que seguir ofreciendo estas ofertas. La edición en vinilo doble cuesta 71€, el cd menos de 7€, 15€ quizá sin la oferta... A este precio sin duda el cd es una gran alternativa aún.
