Loved this cute kit! the packaging is adorable and perfect for a gift. the book is small but has multiple projects and big pictures. the directions are fairly easy to understand. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because i had to stop working on my macrame wall hanging because the holes in the beads are too small! I was looking for a project to do while visiting relatives during the holidays and I was disappointed I couldn't finish it because of the bead problem. One cord could fit in the hole but the directions require 2 cords to go through and it wasn't possible. I recommend if you give this as a gift, you also purchase additional beads with larger holes.

Knots section of book very good. The rest not so much. Poor quality materials.

Plus there are instructions for 8 additional macrame projects. Inside you will find - 140 feet of synthetic white craft cord, a 13-inch wooden dowel, 10 beads and an illustrated instruction book. The 48-page booklet has step-by-step instructions with full-color photographs for a total of 10 projects. In the first 2 projects you will be introduced to the Overhand Knot, Gathering Knot, Lark's Head Knot, Square Knot, Alternating Square Knot, and Josephine Knot. As you move on, you will learn the Spiral Knot, Gathering Double Half Hitch Knot, Alternating Half Hitch Knot, Square Knot Sinnet, Double Half Hitch Knot, Half Knot and Trivet Knot. This is the perfect starter kit for first timer's or those rediscovering this versatile textile. It would make a great gift.

This set is supposed to come with the items necessary to create two projects, a wall hanging and a mini plant hanger. I bought this specifically to learn macrame plant hanging.For the macrame plant hanger the author states, "Using a wall hook or swivel"... however the author provides no wall hook, metal-o-ring or swivel so I had to go purchase that item.Once I got the swivel, I started to proceed with the instructions and I get to the part that says, "take two stands of cord and thread them both through one bead". However, the holes in the beads are so small it is impossible, absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to get one strand through, let alone two strands and I have asked multiple people to try to get two strands through one bead and no one can.So now I'm going to have to purchase beads in order to get through this project. I am disappointed that it doesn't come with everything for the two projects as it states and how the beads are unusable.

It is a kit which consists of 4 items, a roll of polyester cord that looks cheap and shiny, a short stick, ten small beads that are way too small for the cord, and a very thin instruction booklet. The nicest thing about it is the magnetic box. It is not useful and I am not going to do anything with it, it would be a waste of time, since it is not attractive.It is also too late to send it back.

I like the easy to follow directions for beginners. Didn’t care for the macrame cord included but it was good for practicing with.

Looks to be easy and simple know tying.

The instructions were good — they were clear and easy to understand. The included supplies to complete the crafts was of low quality. The included rope was low quality and tying knots was difficult because the glossy coating caused slippage. Also, Because the rope was stiff, the included beads did not acomidate two passes of the included rope as the instructions directed. Five stars for the instructions, -3 stars for the included materials.

I was totally disappointed with this purchase. Box provide was big for a small thin book & poor quality of supplies. Measurements for one of the projects was totally off. Haven't tried any other projects since.

Half way through making the wall hanging it became evident that the beads don't fit on the cords. They are nowhere near big enough. So now I have a half finished wall hanging and I guess I'll have to find some beads from elsewhere.

The rope is synthetic...I was expecting 100% cotton - so kinda disappointing....For the price, I expected a bit more - it's pretty basic
