So far so good on my Steelcase TS30832 a type of Turnstone model. Easy install. Tap out the base part of it. Then you might need a pipe wrench to turn it from high under the chair. It doesn’t shoot unscrew but the pipe wrench will break it loose.I have to pull the chair up to raise it. It doesn’t shoot up on its own.Quiet operation.

This was great. Saved me from having to buy a new chair. I like my chair and this allowed me to keep it. It is like other reviewers said, it is tall and the lower setting is still very high, but for my desk and for me it works just fine. I hope it lasts.

Pain to get the old one out but simple to just pop this new one in place. Hubby was impressed I fixed his sinking chair without telling him. It’s the little things!

Read this. Most people would go out and buy a new chair . This was a very cost effective method to fix my current chair that was in great condition except for the lift. That being said, despite me premeasuring, this size is very tall for a home desk. The lowest setting is almost the height of my old shock, therefore I recommend you measure your old one. I can no longer roll my chair under my desk. I would return it and go through the hassle, but it's hardly worth it. As far as quality, it's good quality. And, I replaced my old one in less than one minute by following the video tutorials.

I recently assembled an executive chair I ordered (thru Staples). When I finished the assembly and sat down for the first time I was disappointed that it was too low for me to comfortably use at my desk. I was very pleased to learn that I could replace the cylinder that raises and lowers the seat and ordered this unit. Removing the existing cylinder was more challenging that I expected (it took numerous hammer blows!) but this new unit dropped into place easily. My chair now easily raises to the exact height I needed (and higher if desired!). The manufacturing quality of the cylinder seems very high and the polished chrome finish looks great. Highly recommend!

I bought 2 new matching chairs for craft room. They didn’t rise high enough for my craft table. Purchased 2 of these and they worked perfectly!!! Great purchase. Definitely recommend. Easy install!
