Excellent way to introduce the reasoning behind the different kinds of sentences and their punctuation!
Nancy Loewen has a very funny sense of humor. The four main characters represent the four kinds of sentences as they are named after one of the four main types od sentence. For example, there is DeClara who only speaks in declarative sentences and Exclamuel, who only speaks with great excitement! It is a light hearted story with plenty of examples. I think it's a great way to introduce students to the purpose of the different kinds of sentences in English.

Very cute!!!
Cute illustrations! This book was very cute and helpful in teaching the names of the different types of sentences. The illustrations were very bright and wonderfully active. My students found them very fun and enjoyable. All eyes stayed on the book to see what the next picture would show!!!

A good resource for parents and educators wanting to teach the four different types of sentences: declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory. The information presented at the end of the story would be best put in the forward though, so children can know more about the different types of sentences they should be looking for while reading. A creative teacher can make this story very interactive with their class.
