Worked fine on Surface Pro 3, has bright white LED.
I recently came in a possession of a secondhand Microsoft surface pro 3 (the previous owners had misdiagnosed firmware problems as hardware failures :-). As we all know the Microsoft chargers are very expensive so I was looking for a quick third-party charger to power up my surface. Based on the reviews this looked like the best around. It did not disappoint! Packaging was great, the item itself looks well made and operates well. It does get slightly warm but not so warm as to be concerning. I did try the USB port charging feature on my iPhone 6s, which worked just fine! I will say that the surface I got had incredibly old firmware and several other problems that I had to rectify. After I got those all handled and reset the power management system the surface started to actually charge the battery and it was at this time that I saw it had a bright white LED on its side. Initially when I plugged it, the surface would boot but it wouldn’t charge the battery. The previous owners had let the battery drain to zero and the unit would function on power but wouldn't charge the battery. After doing the PM IC reset trick (go into UEFI and exit) the surface started to charge normally (software indicated) and the charger light then came on. I also noticed that the charging light stays on even when the unit says it is fully charged. So my assumption is the white LED indicates successful communication with the power management system and not the fact that it’s plugged in. So in closing, buy this adapter if you need another one or your original broke. I would definitely buy another.

Broke in under 5 months of use
I bought this on Nov 21 2017, received it on Nov 24 2017, and now it’s no longer charging my laptop. I know it’s not the outlet nor my laptop as I borrowed a friend’s charger and it charged my laptop, and I have attached a video showing how the outlet+charger could still charge my phone but not my laptop. Very disappointed. Would not recommend anyone to buy this.(PS-sorry about my cat being needy in the video lol)Note: I would gladly change my review if I can have this item replaced for free as there is a “24 month” guarantee, and I would like for that to be honored.

Don't waste your money
I have mixed feelings about this product and feel a bit ripped off. The 6 foot extention is amazing and no longer restricts where I sit when needing to charge my tablet. 5 stars for that, but that only costs $6 when purchased alone. As for the 65w charger, I feel like the product severely lacks quality. My very first use of it is completely disappointing. With the battery running low I went to plug it in and nothing happened, battery was still low and not showing signs of charging. I examined the magnetic plug and it appeared as normal, but just to test it out I flipped the plug upside down and it worked. This is weird, so I tried to flip it around again and wiggle it around to see if it was just a poor connection, without luck. I then flipped it back to the first way that it worked, but this time it didn't work, requiring me to wiggle it around for a few attempts before charging began.Would I recommend this product, hell no. Save yourself some money and just buy the 6 foot extention.

Solid replacement
This is great for getting power from the walls to the battery of the Surface Pro or Surface Book and probably others, but those I've tried and can speak to directly. A Microsoft branded one comes with the device when you buy it new, but unless you bring that one with you everywhere you go, you will need more than one. Even if you have more than one, it turns out that they are detachable from your Surface device, so its possible to leave one or more of them behind. Since they don't come with any sort of GPS tracking device, you will not likely know where you left it, so you may want to buy another one just in case. This item comes with a bag. Not sure why, but hey if you need a small bag for carrying stuff, you get one for free. I guess you could put the charger in the bag, but Ive never tried that so I cant speak to the viability of that option.

Third party? More like pity party.
Bought this when my Microsoft-made charger for my Surface Pro 4 started breaking down. It worked great up until literally five hours ago, when it completely stopped charging altogether-- not my computer, and definitely not any USB-to-Lightning cable or -MicroUSB products. Not only that, but a few weeks ago, the backing of the case on the battery pack started popping out with no warning-- it has been easily replaced and fixed each time, but kept happening nonetheless. I didn't see it as an issue until today, when I realized that that surely has to be a part of it. If you're making a product where pieces are frequently and consistently falling off, and it fully stops functioning without warning, out of the blue, almost exactly six months after purchase, you've made a truly bad product. I will not be purchasing this again and I will certainly not be buying third-party products for my computer again, which means more money lost from my pocket because I can't trust the people from whom I'm buying. Get your house in order, Bursete. If you're going to promise quality, you better deliver.

Good charger, but same weakness as Microsoft charger
I really really wish someone would make a beefed-up charger for the Surface Pro 4. It's ridiculous how fragile to wiring is at the transformer and the computer maglink. They last 6-12 months, then break internally, for lack of reinforcement and strain relief. This is a nice charger, but it's identical to the Microsoft one. I keep a spare in the car as I travel for that reason - utterly ridiculous but necessary. This unit works, charges a phone using the USB port. I'd give 5 stars (or 6 if I could) if someone would make a more reliable device!

Spend the extra cash and get OEM.
Charger died after four months. Charge light just flashes when connected to the Surface; same thing happens when using the usb port.Well, at least I have a longer plug-side cord and a carry bag for my OEM charger.
