I was skeptical to buy this suitcase because of the reviews I read on the other sizes. I have been looking for a top opening hard shell suitcase for a while, I hate clam shell luggage. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this suitcase. The saved space is great in small spaces like cruise ships. The top opening is amazing, it is hard but with just enough give that when I overpacked it still zipped closed. More easily than the clamshell ones I have overpacked. I am a chronic overpacker. I would rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. So I try to get my moneys worth. This is going to be a long list. In this suitcase I packed: 6 dresses 3 swimsuits (two piece) 1 coverup 8 underwear 2 bras 7 socks 8 tshirts 5 shorts 5 leggings 3 pairs of jeans 5 tank tops 1 pair overalls Toiletries (shampoo/conditioner/body wash) Skincare (7 bottles) Hair things (blow dryer with 4 attachments/Good ass hair day dry shampoo/full size hair spray/texture spray/paste/it’s a 10 spray/hair oil/straightener/crimper) 2 travel perfume bottles 1 bag of cleaning supplies (Lysol wipes/scrubbing bubble wipes/lint roller/wrinkle release spray/air freshener/baby wipes) I bag (toothbrush/paste/sunscreen/razor/floss/lotion) Deodorant So for packing approximately 110 things for a 2 week vacation this suitcase performed better than expected. Even with all the things I packed into this suitcase it came out to only about 40 pounds. That isn’t including the things I am packing for my personal item. Most of the reviews I seen were for the carry on or the 26 inch. The 24 works well for a two week vacation with an overpacker, but if you pack even more than me I would go to the 26 inch. I didn’t use packing cubes this time, I plan to use them next time so maybe there will be more space with the compression cubes. All in all I would recommend this luggage. I will be buying a cover for it just because I like the color of the dark green and would like to prevent as much damage as possible that usually happens during travel. I think it is a good investment if you travel a bunch or have a hard time with weak hands as it is easier to open than clamshells.

Purchased specifically because it was a hard side suitcase that opened from the top, versus clam shell. Absolutely loved it. Used it as a checked luggage as well as car travel. No dents or scratches (I did use a clear cover). Very spacious inside. Fit everything I needed. Top opening made it so easy to get in and out of quickly. Didn't take up a lot of room. No regrets.

I prefer this design over clam-shell cases. Held up well on 3-wk trip. Have two now, one in green, another in off-white. Like the four “doubled” wheels. It is light-weight. At first I thought it would dent easily but it does not because of the more “flexible” hard case. We were back-pack suitcase travelers for years. Husband needed to change to roller. Tried first 2 roller style but that tipped over too often. The design of Hanke’s works very well. No tipping over! Still lightweight enough to lift even when packed for 2-3 wks.

I’ve had this suitcase for 18 months. Six months in, one of the zipper tabs broke off. Not an issue since I could still open and close it with the second zipper tab. Six months later, the second one broke off. And my suitcase came out of the baggage claim unzipped and wide open. Really sad because it was a good suitcase. But the tabs and zipper are cheap and break easily.

Overall, I am satisfied with this suitcase after 4 flights. The purchase experience was difficult - my order did not arrive on time, I received several different answers from several different reps about where it was, what happened to the shipment (with one even telling me it had been cancelled, and when I would receive it, none of which were correct. I felt that most of the reps were just telling me what they thought I wanted to hear rather than attempting to determine what actually was happening. I am very dissatisfied with Amazon customer support to say the least! With that said, the suitcase itself is very nice. The wheels are smooth, the suitcase is lightweight and easy to manage, and although it's not as deep as some other 24" rolling suitcases it holds quite a bit. The top-opening design is much easier to manage than the traditional clamshell design of most hardsided luggage. One significant omission is the lack of expansion. There is a middle joint around the circumference of the suitcase that could be used for this purpose, but it is a hard joint with no expandability at all. Adding this feature to a future version would make the suitcase just about perfect. I can't comment on the quality or ease of use of the locking mechanism because I just don't use it. It's not necessary, and I'd rather not give TSA an excuse to break my zipper pulls because they don't want to go in search of the appropriate "TSA compliant" key. Aside from the delivery and Amazon customer support issues, I am pleased with this purchase.

WE LOVE THESE SUITCASES!!! VERY ROOMY, STURDY, GREAT ROLLING CASTERS, AND NICE LOOKING TOO. WE LOVE THAT IT ZIPS OPEN ON THE TOP AND DON'T HAVE TO OPEN THEM UP IN HALF. SAVES LOTS OF ROOM WHEN YOUR CRAMPED IN A HOTEL.

hard-sided top opening is the best design

It can be used as a drawer because it can be left open without taking up floor space.

Lightweight, easy to pack, very maneuverable.

Love the design so it's not clamshell. I have used it a few times and has made it through aiport security with no damage.

Pricey.. but the looks at the airport.. ;) Priceless! A well designed and packaged short-vacation luggage. Good size and the wheels are devine.. no noise to upset airport officials. :)

I was quite impressed when I received my suitcase the emerald green, absolutely gorgeous. I didn’t realize how deep it was when I opened it up. The quality is unbelievable and thank you what you see is what you get very very impress.👍
