The helmet does a very good job of protecting the face/head, some exposure to the nose if you receive a direct hit.

All three of my kids are doing MMA and we needed to order some headgear. I was a little worried about sizing so I ordered just one in small to see about the sizing. This headgear says that it is for 11+ but I found that it fit my 7-11 year olds just fine. There are two velcro adjustments, one at the top and one at the back of the head. According to the sizing chart this one should fit people with a head circumference up to 22.25". I have a 21.25" head so I tried to put it on. I adjusted the top strap and was able to get it on. Circumference wise it fit fine but it was really quite tight around the cheeks.Overall for the price I think this is a pretty good deal. However when it comes to protective gear it isn't necessarily about a deal and really about the fit/comfort. If this fits and is comfortable great. Fit and durable

I can't recommend this helmet enough for sparring, I got hit several times with it and it did protect me pretty well. The only downside is that due to its great protection it makes it harder to see hits coming. I would not use it in competition unless the rules absolutely required this type of helmet, but for sparring it is just awesome.
