Big surprise for me
This is the best tool that they invented. Easy to use, just put it in and turn it until everything come out. I will recommend it to anyone. I used on my roman tub faucet.

obsoletely necessary tool when you work with Moen faucets (especially tub faucets), but...
The tool is necessary when working with Moen faucets, especially tub faucets. However, when dealing with original designs, any imperfections with threads can render the tool impractical when fixing existing faucets. The good news is that a small modification can make it 100% useful in all situations where you need full control over direction, torque, and other factors.

Handy Tool
You can remove the valve using needle nose pliers, but it easier to screw it out the rest of the way with this tool. For the cost it saves time and hassle. Buy it.

Necessary to remove faucet cartridge
It took me a while to determine that my bathroom faucets were made by Moen. Then it took me a while - watching YouTube videos - to determine that there is a plastic retaining "nut" holding the cartridge in place. The only way to remove this retainer is by using this tool. It's also important to apply downward pressure on the tool when attempting to turn it counterclockwise in order to remove the cartridge. If downward pressure is not applied, it's very possible to round off the corners of the retainer, thus making it then almost to remove. I also drilled a hole through the top end of the tool (side to side) to allow me to insert a rod through the tool to aid in turning the tool counterclockwise. Since my retainer was slightly damaged during the removal, I bought new retainers from Amazon.

Didn't work for me
Unfortunately my plastic gasket was already stripped out even though it had never been removed to replace the cartridge before. This tool didn't work and I had to get a whole new faucet assembly from Moen. I kept it in case I need to change this type of cartridge in the future but this faucet design has flaws compared to the older style faucets and cartridges by Moen. Not this products fault.

Must have for Moen repairs
If you do any Moen cartridge repairs this is a must have tool. The only suggestion I have about the tool is that you need to drill a hole at the top. This will allow you to use a round screw driver to turn the tool. Without this hole the tool slips when turning to remove the plastic nut.

Got the job done
I have an old Moen Roman Tub faucet and needed to replace the cartridge which is impossible to access and remove without this tool. After using this tool I was easily able to remove the plastic retainer ring that holds the cartridge in place. In terms of value for money, its just a piece of rolled metal with 2 tabs cut out that fit in the plastic notches. Is it worth the money? I would argue no but if you have a Moen faucet you don't really have a choice.Learning experiences and tips that may help you:- Search for your faucet's "illustrated parts diagram" and understand how your faucet is assembled. Should be available on the Moen website.- If you have a stem extension kit, it will be screwed into the top of the cartridge. If your cartridge has seized in place and cannot be removed with pliers like mine, remove the stem extension kit and get a long 3-4 inch screw, and screw it into the old seized cartridge. Use the pliers to grip the screw head and put out with force.
