Q: Can I freeze kefir grains?

Hi. Not sure. I add a pint of milk to my kefir grains on a Monday morning and leave them in a cupboard at room temperature for two days. I then strain the liquid through a sieve and bottle it. I leave the jar with the kefir grains in the fridge till the following Monday. I've done this for about four weeks now and it's working fine. I would be wary of putting the kefir grains in the freezer. Keeping them in the fridge when they're not being used seems to work.
