Kill or Be Killed Volume 2

Series Gets Even Better
I've read Ed Brubaker for years and I think this is the best work he has done to date. That goes for the art by Sean Phillips, as well. Having personally lived in New York City for many years, I can tell you that Phillips really nails the look and feel of the city, with some truly jaw-dropping panels of snowy streets. Just gorgeous. This volume dropped a nice twist, among many, and had me hooked even more (if that's even possible). Volume 2 is a thicker book than the first volume, containing 6 issues of the comic series instead of 4. You definitely get your money's worth. Looking forward to diving into the next volume.

Excellent
I still have yet to find a dud from this creative team. After I finish the last two volumes of this series I will have read all they have put out. Its not cheap, but this is one of those times where you get what you pay for. Art is perfectly matched with the stories, and each series is unique, so you aren't reading the same thing. Be careful before purchasing Scene of the crime though as that is a repeat of a Criminal volume.

So much better than Vol 1
The world is closing in to Dylan. His deeds cannot go unnoticed and various factions are very close to him. The real-Ness of this vigilantism is so refreshing yet terrifying. It's hard not to place yourself in that position and be terrified of what might happen. Kickass by Mark Millar turned out to not really be subversive and just became an unrealistic work. This volume was amazing. The issue all about Kira was one of my favorite issues of comics ever. It's powerful how Brubaker and Phillips manages to create such rich characters with a tapestry of broken and wonderful past.

24 Karat Vigilante Crime Gold
The plot thickens! Volume two is better than the first. Without hinting at any spoilers, I'll keep this review brief. Volume one ended with a bit of uncertainty, and volume two doesn't disappoint with its resolution of that precarious situation. The characters are more developed, the stakes are higher, and the story's pace is picking up speed. The Brubaker/Phillips/Breitweiser team may strike out some day, but volume two of Kill or Be Killed is another home run.

Great and Brutal Story
Like the first volume, the violence is not inherent on every page. The main character is a reluctant killer, but does not hesitate to defend himself. Thus each of the violent episodes is memorable and sticks out, unlike many other violent comics where there is so much gunfire and death that it all blurs together into one big bloody free-for-all.

Madness ensues and it’s glorious
Kill or be Killed volume 2, like it’s predecessor, is fan-fucking-tastic! Brubaker, Phillips, and Breitweiser have created another volume that left me gasping and eagerly awaiting the next volume. The story is concise and even though multiple characters were introduced I didn’t feel any characters storyline was rushed.

This series blows me away!
Brubaker and Phillips continue to blow me away (pun intended) with Kill of Be Killed. I'm riveted to the blending of horror and crime into a uque world where anything can happen. Well done. Highly recommended reading from Image Comics.

It has good graphics, the story is ok & is getting darker but it lacks something, it doesn’t really work for me somehow so I’m not so sure about it, whereas the Criminal series, which is excellent, ticks ALL the boxes for me ...

This is Brukbaker and Phillips at their finest. I simply cannot put this book down
This is Brukbaker and Phillips at their finest. I simply cannot put this book down, burning through this entire volume in one setting. Brubaker's writing is sensational in creating a real emotional connection towards the characters, especially Dylan and Kira, which is perfectly complimented by Phillips' illustrations which fantastically help to create suspense issue by issue. The best comic I have read in ages, and I cannot wait to see how the story continues to unfold.
