Tava: Eastern European Baking and Desserts From Romania

Best Romanian Cookbook to Date
On the surface, the cover, page and pictures quality are amazing, so the price reflects that. The recipes themselves are in-depth, very knowledgeable, fairly easy to follow and give a great tour of Romania’s various regions. The hidden gems in the contents and background stories are possibly only appreciated by Romanians because they rang so true and brought back memories of life under communism; limited hot water, electricity, standing in line for everything, two TV channels of propaganda, etc. (sad to see America trending this direction with the Democrats!…)We’ve bought additional copies of this book plus her other one to give as gifts to Romanian friends and family!

A lovely book with many good recipes
I bought this after I purchased the first book - Carpathia. There are some pastry recipes too, they looked so good, that I wanted more. And behold - Tava! It almost exceeded my expectations, there are so many versatile recipes of the region.

Fantastic for bakers old and new.
This is a gorgeously put together book that is a pleasure to simply look through. Once you start to read it, you'll find it's also educational on the food culture and history of Romania and Eastern Europe, rich and complex but made so approachable in the writing and the recipes. Easy for both the new and experienced baker, this is a book to return to again and again.

Love it!
The quality of the book itself is phenomenal. The cover is sturdy and the pages are great quality. The recipes are clear and concise and the author stresses that the recipes are simple. Some may be required to start the day before but they are all easy for people to make. I already have a long list of recipes to make!
