Zoom feature is actually nice! Worth the cost over the Vansky 51 LED model
I wanted a UV light to test out some UV tracking dye so I went cheap and just got the Vansky 51 LED UV flashlight w/50k+ reviews figuring it has to be legit. I still have that one and it does work well enough I guess but this Darkbeam UV light is better all around. It costs roughly double the Vansky model but I think it is worth the additional cost. The form factor of the Darkbeam light is much nicer: uniform diameter and easy to keep in a pocket. The included holster is a nice touch if you're planning on keeping it on your belt + I still think the more narrow diameter is a plus if you're going to use the holster. Compared to the Darkbeam model, the bulk of the Vansky head is very noticeable + the Vansky is not as bright as this Darkbeam model. The build quality is definitely a level above the Vansky as well. It is not at Surefire level of fit and finish but the threads are smooth enough and nothing feels loose/out of spec. I also like the zoom feature much more than I thought I would. The main benefit of the zoom vs flood is the ability to cover a broad area (flood) vs more throw or distance but in a smaller zoomed-in spotlight view. What I like about the zoom is that the zoomed in view is more intense - so if you're using it and it's not nighttime or dark enough in the room, the zoomed in view focuses the intensity to make the black-light effect more pronounced. It uses (and comes with) 3 AAA batteries which is a nice touch - they also include the plastic sleeve to hold /center an 18650 cell which is a nice touch/option.For reference: my EDC light is an Olight Baton 3 and I have multiple other Olight models, a Fenix TK75, Streamlight Vulcan, lots more cheap-o LED flashlights, and old Pelican SabreLite 2000, etc. I'd say I am more into flashlights than an average person but I am far from "flashlight nut" haha - definitely not a regular at candlepower forums or anything like that.

Comes in handy for finding scorpions, hornworms, etc.
This sure is a handy gadget! It works just like a flashlight and comes with a carrying case and batteries. Nice compact size that is easy to hold.We had a scorpion get in our house a few days ago, and it was quite a surprise, so I grabbed this so that we could look under our furniture and in the closets to see if there were more. Scorpions glow in UV light. So far, so good. Hopefully the one was just a fluke. We had a great time going all around the house to see what glowed, too!I'm also using this every day to check my tomato plants for hornworms. Those guys will kill a whole plant pretty quick. They are green and blend in with the plant, so they're hard to find. But with this UV light, they glow, so this makes them easy to see. When I find them, I put them in the pasture to eat weeds instead of my garden. (I like the moth that grows from the hornworms, but I don't like the hornworms.)Anyone who is rural like we are would probably benefit from this to find certain pests that are dangerous/destructive. Works great so far! Five stars.

Very Bright - Rechargable - Nice Holster
This is handy to have if you deal with cash transactions a lot, and want to verify the money is legit. Also perhaps possibly investigating crime scenes, places you've spread your love butter, or if you've eaten mustard in a white T-shirt before. It also picks up ever little piece of lint on your dark clothes which I had no idea there was that much one these old sweat pants, wow. The case/holster is high quality, offers multiple ways to equip it to your person, and the UV flashlight itself is a very nice high quality metal and nothing about it feels chinsey. The beam focus adjustment is a cool feature, to broaden or condense the beam depending on the circumstances. To retrieve it out of the holster, it is vel-cro and that may irritate some people who don't like that sort of thing or if you need to be stealth for some reason like a rogue.

Nice Compact UV Light
This is a great UV light, compact yet feels like a very high quality item. Beam is quite bright and just about usable in moderate daylight if you focus it. At night it works extremely well. We have a couple of young puppies and it's so useful to be able to track down accidents!I love that it can use AAA batteries (batteries are included) or a single 18650 with the supplied sleeve. It's not something that I use for any length of time so I can't comment on battery life. The included soft case is very nice too and would fit on a belt quite nicely. There really isn't anything I dislike about this item. Just remember not to shine it in your eyes!

Useful UV Light
This UV light from Darkbeam has a solid aluminum construction that should provide years of service and even survive its share of accidental drops. The flexibility of using AAA batteries or an 18650 battery with the included sleeve is appreciated.Sharing a home with pets, we have found it very useful to identify the ocassional accident, which is sometimes too small or out of the way to be obvious to the naked eye. This flashlight shows precisely where we need to clean.I find that it doesn't work very well in bright indoor lighting, but it can manage some light, even some sunlight coming from a distant window.
