It came right on time, but was damaged, the corners were all bent. A pity because it was a present and I felt a bit embarrased.

This document is a milestone in the celebration and valorisation of Ray Johnson's career. It's strange to think that it took a documentary about his life to raise interest in the avant-garde artwork that made him a friend and contemporary of artists like Warhol, Christo and Rosenquist. I'm glad to see that more and more academic writing is being produced to further our understanding of Johnson's work. Even more so, I'm glad to see it offered at a reasonable price, because most Ray Johnson books are printed in small quantities and now cost a fortune. At almost 400 pages, this brick is sure to please hardcore Ray Johnson fans and curious onlookers. The whole book, save for the essays, is composed of reproductions of letter, works of art, and other documents in colour as well as in black and white. Never has so much material by the artiste been available for consideration. Truly a must have!
