SHIMANOSH-MX100 Multi-Use Off-Road Cycling Shoe

Value + function > Style
The MX-1 is a low cost, no frills shoe.Looks: Not so much. These shoes look like a cross between bedroom slippers and gardening clogs. Style is not the strong suit. That said, they're great for beginners, casual cyclists on a budget, and for those with wider feet.Sizing: I wear a 12.5 US, and typically al 46 or 47 in European shoes. When I measured my feet with a Sidi sizing tool at the local bike shop, my toes landed between the 46 and 47 mark, my instep between 45 and 46 as shown. Width is between E and EE, slightly wider than "normal". Selecting a 12.5 men's in the MX-1 brought a shoe marked as 48 European. The is pretty close to perfect for my feet. Toes have just a tiny bit of space, heel is not loose, and my instep is snug but not pinched. I've only done about 50Km in them so far, and they've been comfortable. The only exception is that I have thick, tall toes and my big toenails are pushed down a bit. I don't think the plastic front will stretch much, so this may be a problem.Potential drawbacks: Serious cyclists might not like all the elastic on top, and probably will be disappointed by the lack of "tuneability" in the single Y strap. Those who ride in weather will get wet socks from the elastic cloth and perforations.Summary: I bought these as a backup to my old trusted Sidis, and for the money I think they're just fine.

Great
Great SPD shoes. Great combination of fitment, rigidity, and traction. Easily able to go on 30-40+ mountain bike rides without pain. All-around awesome!

Game changer
I've been doing metric centuries for a little over a year now and had resisted going to clips. I got the great advice to try these shoes and the hybrid clips that allow you to ride with the clips or regular shoes. The shoes were comfortable for the first ride and my insoles fit perfectly. I've picked up a couple miles per hour in speed as a result. So glad I made this purchase.

Price very cheap, high-quality shoes, most bang for your buck.
Pro:Most bang for your buckUses straps to tieCon:Like most bicycle shoes, they are narrow for my wide feet, but the shoes will stretch over time.Rubber soles are not grippy.

Good shoes but quality is lacking
Comfortable fit and easy to take on and off. My only complaint is theyre coming apart after only a few rides.

Comfortable and lightweight
I have a road bike but prefer to use gravel type shoes. I like the understated appearance of these shoes, and they're quite comfortable, when I end a ride I realize that I didn't think about them at all, only the my ride. They are lightweight as well. Even the price is reasonable.Happy in New Mexico

Very narrow
Length of shoe appropriate for size, good quality materials and construction, very clever Velcro closure, very narrow toe box. Picture shows new black shoe next to older Shimano bike shoe. Newer shoe is much narrower. Good for elf feet!
